I have entered a customer manually, and added all of their information for their listing in the back end. When I look at the listing, it shows that the listing is uncategorized, and is greyed out so you can’t edit it. How do you change the category for one of your listings? In the photo, the first listing is the one I added in the back end. I can not see anywhere that I can edit their category, or even add it?

Have you tried editing the listing and choose a new category? If not, please share WP admin access to your Website in private reply and we’ll check on it.
Thanks!

Then, once you have created one, you can add it to the listing.
January 24, 2018 at 10:39 pm #414287Hi there, yes, I have 13 categories all set up already. There is just nowhere in the back end when you add them to add their category. My biggest issue right now is that the read more takes you to an error page. The customer is ready to ask for a refund if I don’t resolve this, how do I give you private access to look at this? Thanks so much for your help.

About the categories, make sure you have not hidden the category select option from the listing form. It must be included in order to choose a category.

Thanks for writing in today.
#1 – Listing 404 errors – Listings in several of your CPTs don’t have categories added to them. Please review all your listings to make sure that at least one category has been applied to each listing.
At GD > Permalinks you have checked the setting to include category in the URL, so, if the category is missing from the listing, then the url for the listing will not work. All listings require at least one category. Add the category and they should function as expected.
2# – Read more links – You have custom functions in your custom child theme. One or more of these functions is overwriting the ‘Read More’ text and the read more text link. The text and link, if left to it’s own, would appear the same as it does on your parent theme, Directory Starter, as shown here: https://wpgeo.directory/starter/places/restaurants/
The read more link generated by your function is not the correct listing link, and so you are seeing a 404 error when clicked.
You can take a look at your custom functions to find the function causing the problem and remove/disable it to address is yourself. I can also flag this for a developer to take a look. Before I do that, though, please first create a private reply that includes tested FTP information. Please include all the information so we have it in one place.
