Not sure if I am using the correct terminology by saying item, but I was wondering if it is possible to add to the standard “Place” and “Event” in geodirectory. My site is custom car related and I would like to create a Builds section that people can select and search on.

you can add a variety of different types of custom fields to each listing type.

Thanks that’s exactly what I was looking for. Is it possible to strip out the address and map fields for the custom post type? Because of the nature of the lisings I do not want to show locations.

You can turn off addresses and maps completely for a Custom Post Type, see

GD > General > Select CPT to disable physical location
