    my site is notarybyzip.com
I only have one category … notaries… I have only 2 custom post types (because this is default and i have to keep them both), I only uses Places, which I have changed to showup as “notaries” instead of “places”

I have added select boxes for different searching options, and added those to the advanced search.. that all seems to be working well.

The only problem is In my search widget I have a drop down menu to choose Notaries or Events, is there any way I can either remove that or remove events from the drop down menu?

Delete all events including event categories, or even simpler, de-activate the Events Manager plugin.
    Thanks

    thank you! that worked great.

but now I need more help… what i am trying to do is have a directory of notaries, the notaries work different hours, they provide different Mobile services to different types of locations, and the notarize different types of documents… BUT VERY IMPORT… they may go to multiple of the types of locations…. and they will obviously prepare many different types of documents…

i want the client using the website to be able to use the search and select they want a 1. mobile notary that will 2. work on saturday, 3. go to a hospital, and 4. sign power of attorney documents.

this same notary may also go to jails, and may also work during the regular weekdays and prepare 15 other types of documents…

after assistance from someone else, I thought setting up custom fields under my CPT and adding option values would give me this option…. it works great for the person using the website searching for the notary, but …….
But now I am trying to edit my listing to include what all types of services provided, or different options I can only say, for example, that I provide one type of services… when this is not correct. I need the notary to be able to list all the types of services they provide….

    any suggestions?

and BIG PROBLEM …. I had started a discussion the other day.. 2-3-4 days ago with someone that I have not heard back from….. I am missing my add listing pages… i have an “add list” option that I can go to in the backend… but that does not give me all the options for a notary adding them self to the directory to enter any information.. it only says that I can enter a title and description… when I watch the geodirectory videos on youtube it looks like it is maybe a portion of the listing page… but I am confused if there are “lists” and “listings” pages. I have read so much that my eyes are crossed.
that person helping asked me to setup a user name and password for them to to use under administrative on notaryzip.com … i was a bit worried about doing that… should I have not done that? is this something you could maybe help with because I have not heard back from them?

If you want to give more than one option, you need a multiselect field. They can be added to the search but not the search bar itself.
    See an example here: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/property/

To get your pages back: GD > GD Tools > GD Pages Check:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-tools/#pages
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/

If we need to check your settings, add your WP admin details in a private reply.
If there is any topic not answered, post a link to that topic here.

Your Add Listing page was in the trash, I restored it and re-connected again at GD Permalinks.
I de-activated the links to the Add listing page from your GD Navigation so the only menu item left is the one you added at WP menus. Ii also removed a few other links from the menu that got auto-added.
    Please check.
    Thanks.

    thank you soooooo much!!!

I am trying to make an “advanced Search page… can you tell me which widget to use to make my multi select options show up all in one large window similar to the example you sent me in this link….

    https://wpgeo.directory/docs/property/

i know i can’t use the drop down menus with the multiselect, but I want to give my customer a place to go to see all the options to choose from.

    Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for your reply. To display all options in the “advanced search” widget, you’ll have to configure the widget settings as shown in the attached screenshot.

    Hi there,

I’ve switched it to a shortcode for you and it should work now. Could you please check?

ok, i think i have one last question… I have two things listed in my menu that seem to take me to the same place…

“Notaries” seems to take me to a page that is a list of all notaries
and then when you go to listing and Notaries shows up there it goes to what appears to be the same as a list of all notaries… can you tell me IF these are truly going to the same location and how I can get rid of one of them if they are the same thing.

Please check the links you added at GD > Design > Navigation
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#navigation

And check the links you added at Appearance > Menus.

    Thanks
