I have several V1 live geo directories, and thought I could manage. But here I am little lost:
Using all latest V2 theme and plugins. Supreme theme with Starter.
image attached with detail question, how and where to access the text in the header image,
edit and add to the categories with button style, adding text and categories below
the header image, like your demo shows (which I used for screenshot, since I could not find any details)
See my homepage site in progress at HERE

I added search distance button with a drop down, but would like to delete the standard search glass.

    appreciate your help

    Hello,

V2 brings in a lot of changes, but the basics are still the same.

For Supreme the featured image, page title and subtitle are set in the page itself. You can still use this doc: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-directory-overview/

It looks like you are using the Location Description, which text is set in the Location Manager: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/location-manager/#location-data

The listings shown in rows, each one is an individual listing, and the data is entered through a form in the frontend or backend editor. Generally speaking individual listings are not edited with a builder (usually). Instead the information is assembled in the form.

GDV2 introduces templates. You can see this page to learn more about how those listings are created (visually) with the Archive Item template. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/page-design/

We are happy to answer your questions here. However, if you would like some hands on help on your site we encourage you to contact a GD Expert that can help you with tailoring your site to meet your expectations: https://geodirectoryexperts.com/experts/

Thanks Alex, it helped a little to enhance my “short code” education.

    1. However, still unclear about (see image) the cat items in top image.

    2. as I understand now, I could use the Location page as home page, even
so I will have clients from different countries in the listings???
Ex. my base location is Florida, when a customer in Canada, will GPS/Geolocate
relate to their location as nearest?

    thanks in advance
    Holger

    Hello,

The Featured Categories section of the Featured area in Supreme displays the categories with the most listings automatically; it is a special feature built into the Supreme them. It does not have any settings to alter how it works.

You can use any non-GD page as your home page, yes. GDV2 does not come with a home page. You can make a new WP page, add listings shortcodes, and then set that as the home page in WordPress. The location page should not be used as the home page.

“Near Me” search is a prominent feature of GeoDirectory. You can find this in the Near Me search field or the location switcher, just click “Near Me”.
