When I do a search for minicab London the results returned have Popular Categories at the top followed by Search Places For : ‘minicab’.

I do not want results returned from Search Places For : ‘minicab’ because it appears to show all the posts with that tag from the main blog.

Ideally, I would just want a list of minicab places in London – as displayed here which you arrive at currently by clicking the Minicab Driver link in Popular Categories shown in the first link.

    Any ideas please?

BTW the code that Kore provided for my other query yesterday worked a treat – many thanks.

    Hello,

There seems to be a conflict that is altering the search query, and thereby including additional posts.

Cache Enabler should be disabled, it is most likely not compatible with GD. If you are determined to use it you should try GDV2 which is compatible with additional cache plugins, whereas GDV1 only works with WP Super Cache.

Also please review your autoptimize settings.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/autoptimize-settings/

Please try disabling non-GD plugins until you find the plugin causing the conflict.

    Hi Alex.

Many thanks. It was a plugin called Relevanssi. Now removed and we’re sorted.

I removed Cache Enabler then installed WP Super Cache to replace it.

I have just noticed that I now appear to have missing reviews. They’re shown as a number but when I click the Review tab here or here they’re not there.

Any ideas please. You still have access if needed BTW.

I see the comment in the backend editor, but it isn’t showing anything at all to me on the frontend.

I got a message that comments are disabled, and I cannot even see the WP Settings -> Discussion where comments are controlled.

Do you have a plugin related to comments?

    Hi Alex.

Yes. Clearfy. Changed setting to allow comments and we’re fine. Thanks.

Now another one. Sorry. I do NOT want to limit the number of words shown in the description attached which is here.

I would like to allow a large description and for it ALL to be displayed. The Post excerpt is cut off by the Read More as you can see in the attached.

I have set the Description Word Limit to 10,000 but I can’t see where I can set the Post content excerpt characters. I have found the Related Post Settings where I have also set the Post content excerpt characters to 10,000 – just for now – but there doesn’t appear to be a similar setting for the summary on each place.

I have a global setting of display summary – not full text – in WP Reading Settings and I really can’t change that but is that the issue please?

Any ideas please? I just dislike sentences getting cut. It looks horrible.

Finally, Can you just confirm that the input description limit would be set on the Design page via the listings tab please?

The setting at GeoDirectory – Design – Listings – Description word limit is the only setting/option for controlling how much is shown on the frontend. You can set that one to 10,000, and then the “Layout:List” will show the complete contents.

The only way to limit the input is in price package settings.

Thanks Alex. I’ll live with that.

The pinpoints here don’t appear to be working. Do you think that is another plugin issue please?

The pinpoint is a sort of button that makes the map icon on the map bounce. I do not see a map on that page, so, the pinpoint is just a decoration without a map.
