Hi,
I have a few questions related to Geodirectory V2.1) Featured listings: I do a heap of tailored packages for businesses and I liked that i could simply tick a box in V1 to elect if the listing was “featured” or not. I can’t find a way to do that in V2? It looks like it has to be pre-set? Is this the case, or is there a way to get this control in the admin dashboard for individual listings?
2) Dashboard – add a new event: You used to be able to type in “alive days and renewal due”. Now you have to add the date using the calendar, which is not very helpful. Is there a way to bring back the box that allows you to select the time period (see screenshot “Screen Shot 2019-05-14 at 6.08.31 pm” attached?)
3) Can we hide the stars on listings that don’t have any reviews? I’d like to hide them on both the search page and listing page.
4) Right now all events show in the right side bar of the listing page. Some events run almost every day, so this isn’t a good option for me (see screenshot “2019-05-14 at 5.47.29 pm” below). Can we put a limit on how many show, and have a “show more” option? In the old version it had a slider that stopped this being an issue.
May 19, 2019 at 8:40 am #487385#1 Make sure you have activated the “Featured” field and that it is active for the package. It is no longer in the sidebar but as part of the custom fields when adding or editing a listing.
#3 You can only all of them or none.
I’ll get the developers to have a look at #2 and #4.
Thanks

#3 What about Events? Can it be removed from it, but left on all business postings? Thank you.

Thanks

In this same section (Events > Settings > General > Show Advanced >) if I tick ” Prevent this post type from being added from the frontend?” can business owners still edit business listings that they are the author of?May 19, 2019 at 12:21 pm #487402I removed the star ratings, but it still has an icon there -maybe a comment icon? (see screenshot please)
Is it possible for me to remove this please?Side note: Congratulations on getting V2 live. I really like the listings pages – they look really great. Clean lines, easy to read, great use of tabs and icons. Well done 🙂

You can either hide that with CSS or use a separate GD Archive Item template for Events at Events > Settings > General > Show Advanced > Template Page Settings > Details Page.
Thanks
May 19, 2019 at 1:14 pm #487408It is always possible to change the Expire date manually using the calendar, but of course this will not change settings/subscriptions for recurring listings on gateway platforms. Can you say more about what you miss from the previous implementation?
About ‘featured’, we have a doc here, and we do plan to add an admin override through the backend “Mark Featured” that allows admins to mark listings featured. This is under consideration for a future version.
About #4, this is not possible at this time but we are looking at possible options for future versions.

Have a look at GD > Settings > Multilocations > Show Advanced >
* Home page should go to
* Archive urls
* Archive urls on details pageI’ve requested it to do “Featured” first and then “A-Z”, but right now the the business titles are not alphabetical.
I am guessing that page is not a Listings page but a Search Results page. Sorting only works on Listings pages.
Thanks

In the section Events > Settings > General > Show Advanced > if I tick ” Prevent this post type from being added from the frontend?” can business owners still edit listings that they are the author of? I would like business owners to be able to edit their business listings, but they don’t need to “add” them. Does this make sense? Does the system allow this please?May 23, 2019 at 12:57 pm #488376This reply has been marked as private.May 23, 2019 at 1:12 pm #488380This reply has been marked as private.May 23, 2019 at 10:49 pm #488489In the section Events > Settings > General > Show Advanced > if I tick ” Prevent this post type from being added from the frontend?” can business owners still edit listings that they are the author of? Using that setting will stop users from editing their listing from the frontend. If you do not want users to add their own listing, just make sure there is no link anywhere to the Add Listing page for Events.
Hi, how do i set what shows up on the listings page above the description? i.e. right now it’s showing the address. How do I change this to something else – for example a special offer?
GD > Settings > Pages > Archive Item > Edit
That is where you build the look of each listing.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/archive/I’d like to remove the menu items “My invoices” and “view invoices” from the dashboard
I am not sure what page you are looking at there. Can you provide more details and WP admin login please.
Thanks
