Hi guys!
I have tried to research and I did all the testing I could based on the following links:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/listings-not-saving-2/
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/when-adding-a-new-listing-location-doesnt-save/#post-488783 (although this one doesn’t say what was done, so couldn’t work through it)
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/updates-to-listings-not-saved/ (didn’t have GD Cache on)
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/gd-does-not-save-edits-to-some-fields/ (I disabled all plugins and it still happened)This happened when I had imported 317 listings (and then manually updated them all) as well as when I just added a new listing.
The steps I had to take in order to make sure that the location and anything BELOW the map saved is as follows:
Add description, add tags, add category and click add to map button (address was imported in)
At this point I typically uploaded the image as well – although I tested both with uploading it prior to first save as well as after – no effect either way.
If I had put anything else below the map (facebook, twitter etc) then as soon as the Update button is clicked – the category is removed, the location points below the map are removed and anything OTHER than description, tags and photo are removed. If the address was imported in, then it stays — just isn’t on the map anymore.Once the update button has been pushed and the save has occurred, I re-enter the category, re-push the location button, add in social media etc below map, and then the save works.
I can give you access to the site 🙂 right now it is in maintenance mode because we aren’t technically live yet.
June 2, 2019 at 9:13 pm #490467So I wrote everything up and referenced all my links – submitted and the forum deleted the whole post and said the topic is marked as spam…please tell me that somewhere you have all that I had sent…

June 7, 2019 at 1:34 pm #491563I am getting ready to submit another issue, but not sure if it is related to this one. Have we figured out what is going on with this?

Can you take a look in your wp-config for something like this and comment it then test?
define( 'WP_POST_REVISIONS', 5 );
Try contacting host support for help with that:

https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/issues-saving-listings/#post-491710June 9, 2019 at 12:13 pm #491794Ok, requested and had changes made to CONFIG file. Doesn’t appear to have fixed the issue.
I did notice that it does “appear” to be related to seeing the odd frontend issue: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/disable-the-feature-that-autosaves-edits/ – you will only see that message the first time – but the same issue occurs repeatedly if edited from there.
The difference is that if you are editing from the front end, it will take the title and description the second time, but no matter how many times you save it, it won’t save the information if edited from front end form.
June 9, 2019 at 12:20 pm #491795Although, quick update, when I did edit the test item from the front the first, time, it actually created a NEW listing, so the note about it having unsaved content, when I finished editing – created new, it didn’t even attempt to update the existing one.
June 12, 2019 at 12:33 am #492407Changes made to wp-config, did not rectify issue.
Please adviseJune 12, 2019 at 9:07 pm #492604The developers are asking if you could please make a WP Admin and FTP account that you can manage and share it when you need to with complete WP Admin and FTP details.
Once they have the details they can take a deeper look at the issue.
Thanks,
Alex
