Names and configuration of the widgets that make GD Tabs.

    What are the exact names and configurations of the widgets that make up the Tab?

    For example, what widget and with what configuration do you use to show the full post description. We thought it was Posts Content but documentation says its about text-areas

    Widget name for:
    1. Full description, as it is in Profile Tab. (Post content doesn’t show full description and it ads “read more” at the end)
    2. Photos as in Photos Tab
    3. Leave review form as it is in Reviews Tab
    4. the actual reviews
    5. Paging for reviews
    6. Tags

    That is using the default configuration, without any custom shortcodes added to the tabs. If you make a new CPT and visit the Tabs for that CPT, that is how it is setup

    The Details template for that page is the default. If you visit the Pages settings and click on Details -> Default content you will see the settings. The only item used in the archive page to show the tabs is gd_single_tabs

    GD Post Meta can be used to display the entire description.
    GD Post Content is fr an excerpt. It is more useful on Archive Item templates than Detail Page templates because of the Read More link.

    GD Single Taxonomy is a separate element that is not part of the tabs, is used to show tags and categories, and is part of the Details template. GD Post Meta can be used to show cats or tags instead of both.

    There is not a shortcode for reviews.

    Thanks Alex, that was very helpful. Everything is solved except reviews. We managed to get around the no shortcode limitation by removing everything from GD Tabs, only leaving Reviews there, and inserting the GD tabs widget. Two issues left:

    1) We’d like to show reviews in one column, and the add review form in another. It seems reviews is an all or nothing. Can you please consider splitting reviews and the add review form into 2 different widgets?

    2) How do we paginate and set the number of reviews to show per page?

    We tried a workaround to duplicate the Single Tabs widget in 2 columns. The idea was to hide the review form in one column, to show only the reviews, and to hide reviews in the other column, to show only the form. However it seems the Single Tabs widget can only appear once per page.

    GD Single Tabs once per page, yes.
    We don’t ‘do anything’ with reviews, they are just standard WP comments with the ratings hooked in.

    I will add your request for the developers to consider.

    Thanks Alex. To clarify the request:
    – A widget for just the reviews, with the number of reviews to show (eg 10) and pagination
    – A widget with the form to leave a review.
    That way we can position them anywhere we want on the page, like the other elements.

    The only way to show reviews at the moment is to show the GD > Tabs and hide everything else. Since you have widgets for everything, it would be great if you could create these two widgets too.

    Shortcodes would too. Thanks.
