If this is not the best place for this topic please move it or let me know. I didn’t see a separate forum for the Geo Directory All Import plugin discussion.

Does anyone know if we can import “Hours of Operation” and if so what the format is for doing so?

I have each day’s hours separated in columns in the csv

in WP All Import should it be just “10AM–6PM,10AM–6PM,10AM–6PM,…. etc” for the 7 days or different?

And what about if a day has two sets of hours such as “7:30AM–2PM, 5–10PM”

    See screenshot.

    Appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

    Hello,

did you already add a sample listing and export?

Try that to see how they are formatted.

Alex, No actually I haven’t but I will do that. I was getting ready to do a small test import and thought I would ask first. Thanks

Alex, actually just thinking about importing the hours of operation I find it hard to believe that there is not an example in support docs… just saying… seems like this would be the same on any import into Geo Directory and that it would be helpful for everyone.

Also let me confirm “You can only edit the file with OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc.” I am a Mac user and typically edit in Numbers and export to CSV, so what do you recommend.

I have done a lot of importing using WP All Import Pro with other directory themes and never had an issue with doing it like I mentioned above. So I find that recommendation very odd… anything else you can share on this?

Yes, Open or Libre Office won’t cause any formatting issues.

    Examples? Sure thing: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/import-export/#business-hours

We also have an integration with WP All Import ->
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/wp-all-import/

To use that, look for the GeoDirectory Custom Fields section when arranging the import job.

I have been using a really excellent Google Maps scraper called Botsol and in looking at the hours of operation export from GeoDirectory it looks like I won’t be able to use the shortcodes from the csv download.
This is what Botsol gives me from Google

    7AM–2PM 7AM–2PM 7AM–2PM 7AM–2PM 7AM–2PM 7AM–2PM 8AM–1PM

in the form of a shortcode for each day {monday[1]}, {tuesday[1]}, {wednesday[1]}, etc

    This is what GeoDirectory uses
    [“Mo 07:00-14:00″,”Tu 07:00-14:00″,”We 07:00-14:00″,”Th 07:00-14:00″,”Fr 07:00-14:00″,”Sa 07:00-14:00″,”Su 08:00-13:00”],[“UTC”:”-7″]

I would have to manually create each hours of operation for each business. Unless you have any other suggestions?

Would be really sweet if I could do it like this in WP All Import using their mapped shortcodes (see screenshot)
    [“Mo {monday[1]}”,”Tu {tuesday[1]}”,”We {wednesday[1]}”, etc

Do you think this might work?

Neither import pathway supports that kind of substitution, as far as I know, but I will flag your question for the developers and they can let us know if that is on the horizon.

Thanks, I noticed also that GeoDirectory uses the 24 hour clock on the back end and my scraper & shortcode uses 12 hour time from Google.

    Appreciate your reply.

    Hello,

Business Hours must be saved in valid format otherwise it will not rendered correctly. Business Hours format must be similar in format like here https://github.com/AyeCode/geodirectory/blob/master/includes/admin/dummy-data/standard_places.php#L1457

It does contains AM,PM in time so Business Hours uses 24 hours time.
