How do I incorporate both events and listings?

I am trying to wrap my head around how to have both listings and events on my site. I have all the necessary plugins set up. I have the listings packages set up. Now I am looking at events and I see that there are all these options AGAIN, but this time for events. I want this to be simple…I’m thinking that it will just be free to list an event, but I do have it set in listings that in order to have an event linked to a listing, that they have to have a paid package. That’s a paid feature. I am unsure how to set that up to tie in with that in the events package? It feels like it is a whole other package…and I want it to be related…

So, I want events to be able to be submitted by anyone for free (without any tie to a business listing)…but I want the link to the biz listing to ONLY work with the listing’s basic or featured listing paid package. But I don’t want them to end up paying twice! It feels like if I put it in an events package that it will be charging them separately, so duplicating things?

It’s just really confusing to me how to set this up…can someone help me figure this out? Is there a tutorial somewhere that I’ve just not stumbled upon yet that shows how to do this properly?
