The Popular Posts View Widget excerpt does not strip out images that are used as the first block in the content area. Please see the attached. We also encountered an issue with YouTube videos placed via iFrame as the first block within the content area. It caused a JS error that stopped most elements on the page from loading. We removed it because it messed up the entire home page.

I don’t know if the issue of stripping out images and other non-text content from excerpts is a problem across the board with all your widgets, but it’s definitely worth reviewing the code for other widgets to make sure that the excerpt is functioning properly.

That should not happen with the latest version. The HTML stripping was fixed. Are you using the latest GD?

To add YouTube videos without any problems, you should use the special video custom field.

    Hi,

We’re still having issues with iframes not being stripped from widget excerpts and this is causing an error which results in the rest of the page not loading. I know you said that WP doesn’t like users to use iframes in posts, but they can still be added by a user. It is an html tag and should be stripped along with the other html tags.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

the excerpt should already strip all html. Please provide a link were we can see the error.

    Thank you
