Possibility of "post_author" value to be different from the nickname?

    Hello, I have a question.
    Is it possible “post_author” value to be different from the nickname? I would prefer in the page sidebar where there is widget GD > Post Meta: post_author to show the name that a user can change as First or Second name.
    The result that I’m getting now is that this widget is showing only nickname. For example my nickname is admin and I want to change it. But so far the only possible way to do this is to create new user.

    Please advice.

    Hello Kor,

    Thank you for your reply.
    User profile information can be changed yes, but nickname (as user name for login) cannot be changed. And when I use GD > Post Meta: post_author the result of the value is the nickname. I trying to find a way to change this.

    UsersWP has the Author Box, to display information about post and listing authors.

    Thank you Alex,

    I think I cannot explain my issue correctly. I will try now with screenshots. In the post above I wrote “nickname”, but I meant “username”. Please see the attached file.

    GD > Post Meta : key post_author value is showing only username (admin). Is there are a way to be changed to nickname(Tom) or other display name(Alex Fred)?

    additional options are available with the UsersWP. GD Post Meta is only username.

    Hello Alex, thank you.
    In UsersWP there are additional option for the user to set first, last name, display name. But the result value of GD > Post Meta it’s not changing. I want the listings on my page to have link to the profile of their author and the name of the author to be different from the username. As I understand for now this is not possible. Ok I’ll be waiting for an update.

    Use the UWP shortcodes for uwp_post_meta instead. Use the shortcode builder to find the shortcodes.

    Hello Alex, thank you very much.
    I saw now what uwp_post_meta can do. But I’m looking for a result with a link.

    GD > Post Meta : key post_author is giving the username as a link and when you click it, it takes you to the profile page from where you can check other listings of the user etc.

    Right, but GD Post Meta does not do what you want, unfortunately.

    I have made a note and the developers said they will consider it for a future version.
