Hi,
I have 3 problem with SOCIAL IMPORTER ADDON:
1. Sometimes “SOCIAL IMPORT ADDON” dont run well. It dont upload the address of the event.
Sometimes if I return to import the “Facebook Event” (after the first times, I wait a few second and I return to do click in the button “IMPORT DETAILS”), “SOCIAL IMPORT ADDON” upload the address well.
But others times if I return to import the event, “SOCIAL IMPORT ADDON” continue without to import the “Facebook Event”.
For example “SOCIAL IMPORT ADDON” don`t upload the address of this following event:
http://www.facebook.com/events/1721617171393333
I have tested this event with my web (www.infocity) and with your demo web (http://wpgeo.directory/), and the address will not imported.2. In the ADD FORM
http://infocity.website/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_event
I can do click in “IMPORT DETAILS” and it run well, but only there is the text “IMPORT DETAIL”, and there is not the image of the button.3. In the Dashboard section (admini section), in ADD EVENT there is not the “IMPORT DETAILS” option.
I have ENFOLD THEME.
I hope your answer.
Thanks for your support.November 15, 2015 at 12:39 am #602131. See how that event does not have a link to a map, like other events have with an address? I guess that the address is not valid for some API, so it cannot import; even FB does not know where it is.
2. I added some styling to GD > design > scripts. You can change it to suit.
3. You can only import FB and Yelp listings from the backend:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/social-importer-addon/#introNovember 15, 2015 at 9:16 pm #60266I guust, thanks for your answer.
I answer you the following:
1. I understand what you say. If Facebook doesnt know the direction (so dont show map) SOCIAL IMPORTER also doesnt know the direction.
But just for your interest, I have the following two events:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1652415628370337
https://www.facebook.com/events/401339170063945
where Facebook knows the direction (and show the map), but SOCIAL IMPORTER dont import the direction. I dont know if it is an error from API…2. Ok, I have seen that. You are introduced “yellow”. Can you past a list of colours I can introduce? I have introduced “light grey” and GeoDIrectory dont recognize this colour…
3. OK
4. SOCIAL IMPORT is a very good tool for users. With SOCIAL IMPORTER users can upload events fastly, and I think it`s correct let user only upload one by one events.
But ADMINISTRATOR need upload one hundred or three hundred events by few clicks.
I have seen the following page:
http://allevents.in/
It has an API (http://allevents.in/pages/api)
and I think this page upload automatically all the Facebook Events.
So my question is:
Is GeoDirectory working in a especial tool that let ADMINISTRATOR upload hundreds of FACEBOOK EVENTS automatically or with a few clicks? Or for example from “ID EVENTS LIST” (with txt file)?I hope your answer.
Thanks very much for your support.November 16, 2015 at 11:44 am #603071. No idea really, let’s ask Paolo to check.

4. Maybe you can download FB events with another tool, and then create a CSV upload file to upload the events.
November 16, 2015 at 3:20 pm #60348Hi,
this address is not complete and both Facebook or Google Maps doesn’t seem to be able to recognize it:
The address should be:
Ctra. de Girona, 22
17220 Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Girona
Espana.Thanks
November 16, 2015 at 3:50 pm #60355hi, Paolo. You are right. In this following event:
http://www.facebook.com/events/1721617171393333
address (Carretera de Girona 22, Sant Feliu de Guíxols) is not correct, so both facebook or google don`t recognize that…
But in my second post (November 15, 2015 at 9:16 pm), I have indicated this 2 following events:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1652415628370337
https://www.facebook.com/events/401339170063945
addresses (“Pl. Hospital,6 2n pis 17001 GIRONA” and “Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas i Joan, 22-24, 17007 Girona, Espagne”) are recognized from FACEBOOK (facebook shows the maps) but SOCIAL IMPORTER not recognize addresses. Can you help me about the question number 4? Do you know a tool that let me upload a list of facebook ID, and return me a CSV file that I can use for GeoDirectory?
I hope your answer.
November 16, 2015 at 7:46 pm #60434Hi,
they all have the same problem.
Just go to Google and enter the same address as you have it on the page.
Example:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1652415628370337
Result: We could not find Pl. Hospital,6 2n pis 17001 GIRONA
Make sure your search is spelled correctly. Try adding a city, state, or zip code. Thanks
November 16, 2015 at 9:12 pm #60460Ok, that`s all right. I understand.
Can you help me in the question numer 4?
Thanks for your support.November 16, 2015 at 9:32 pm #60474Scraping in bulk from Google and other major API is against their Terms of Service and considered copyright infringement.
With Facebook for example you can’t collect data automatically, without their express written permission. https://www.facebook.com/apps/site_scraping_tos_terms.php
You can only query their API and collect minimal information. If you cache or save their data in your database you should keep it updated at all the time, which means everytime a change is made on the orginal entry, the change should be reflected immediately on your website too.
We prefer to stay away from developing tools that could promote illicit use. I’m sure there are API scrapers out there that can download list of events in CSV format that you can then import by copying data in the our sample CSV file.
Thanks
Thanks

November 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm #60601Hi Paolo, you are right…
Only one thing.
I need a csv file for events, just like example, that will be compatible with GeoDirectory.
Where can I found and download it?
Or maybe can you send me an example of csv file for events that I can upload in GeoDirectory?
Thanks for your support.November 17, 2015 at 6:02 pm #60603HI,
the sample file can be downloaded from GeoDirectory >> Import / Export.
Thanks
November 18, 2015 at 9:29 pm #60786Hi Paolo, thanks for your answer.
I have downloaded the sample file (event_listing).
It have 3 events (CSV Zavino Pizzeria, Test Gallery Pizzeria 2, Test Hottel Pizzeria 2)
I have tested it. So I have uploaded it and all run well.
So, I have had another test.
I have deleted from my web the 3 events uploaded.
I have opened sample file (event_listing) and I have deleted the second and the third event.
I have saved it. Its name is “event_listing one”. Now, “event_listing one” has only one event, the first event (CSV Zavino Pizzeria)
I add this file in this post.
So I have uploaded “event_listing one”, but GeoDirectory tell me that there is an error:Total 1 item(s) found.
1 / 1 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).
1 / 1 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type.I dont understand where is the error.
CSV Zavino Pizzeria is the same event, with the same dates (direccion, Title, description, etc..). I have deleted nothing, and I did any change.I have tried upload a csv write by me, but I receive the same error.
Can you explain where is the error?
Thanks very much for your support
November 18, 2015 at 9:38 pm #60788All the info is in the same cell, instead of in the relevant columns.
Open the file again, make sure it is only comma delimited , and separate the information in the correct columns. -
