There is location limitations settings under “general – Search” called “Limit squared distance area to X miles (helps improve search speed)”. This might help you
Is this a problem (as I still have this issue) ONLY for ADDING through the backend? What about EDITING listings though the back end. I will never be ADDING but will be EDITING though backend.
Thanks,
Adrian
I had the same thing last week…. and worked though it with Stiofan
You probably have the categories defined as “check box” instead of “AJAX Chained” in your Custom Post Type Settings (Of View Settings)… in the “fields” section. Changing to AJAX chained fixed this for me.

Pretty interesting Paolo, thanks for the insight….. I have enabled compression (GZIP) on my control panel on the server… seems to certainly help things… without caching… just hope it doesn’t break anything!
Thanks. I will investigate futher
This is a bit of a pity, since page speed greatly effects SEO (as well as user experience of course)… and in turn caching greatly improves page speed. Are there any particular parts of the plugins that are more affected by caching than others?
What I mean is… if it’s only the MAP that is affected by caching then perhaps I could exclude that from caching and cache the rest?
Thanks guys,
Adrian

Perhaps I am reading this wrong… but does this help my situation above? I am not sure I see the relationship to the requirements using a coupon code hook?
Thanks

We are hoping to launch our re-designed website by year end… I have no idea (as I am new to WP GeoDir) what your release intervals are. When would you think this will be released?
Also, I raised this elsewhere but sort of related… can the dashboard show “My Listings” that are draft as well as published. At the moment you need to have at least one active listing to see your draft ones it in your dashboard.
Cheers Stiofan,

November 3, 2014 at 11:14 am in reply to: Where can a logged in customer see their advert expiry date? #20364I guess, as a customer, I would need to be able to see it in my dashboard so I could see how long I have left…. so, ideally in their list of adverts each at the bottom would show expiry date…. Since the listing packages all have expiry date it’s an important field.
Thanks a mil Stiofan

November 3, 2014 at 9:12 am in reply to: Where does the "Expiry Email" get sent from (what function) #20356Thanks Guust. I found the text/content of the actual emails there where you suggested….but it is more the logic that sends them I need to see can I change.
Basically, I have a need (and I would imagine it’s quite a common need) to allow customers to create one listing for a certain price…3 listings for a higher price…. 5 listings for a higher price again…. and so on….we call it “tiered pricing”. But with WP Geo Directory there is a one-to-one relationship between “package” and “listing”.
So, for example, some of our customers has 10 businesses that they want to list (I would imagine this is common among restaurant owners, coffee shops, fast food joints for example). So my workaround for this tiered pricing is to create the listing “packages” at the different prices… but also a “free” package called something like “Multiple Listing Owner – Extra listing add-on” so they can buy a paid package (for example “10 Adverts – €399”) in which they create their first advert…. and then they create their second and subsequent adverts on the “free” package.
Problem with this is that they will 10 emails for pre-expiry renewal instead of one…. so…. I need to try to hack the code for those kind of customers that the system can email me… and I can follow up with them manually looking for payment for their renewal.
Hope this makes sense!
