Thank you for your suggestions. I did implement the Post Directions widget into the location detail sidebar as a temporary fix, though I’m not sure if what we’re seeking is possible.
We encountered this suggestion from someone who reviewed our site, and I believe they intended it as the Post Address itself would be a hyperlink that would take the user to the google maps page for that address.
January 15, 2020 at 7:45 pm in reply to: Is it possible to add a "Go Back" button to single locations? #525828We’re using Ocean WP, do you happen to know if they have breadcrumbs? We also wouldn’t want breadcrumbs on all pages, likely just on listing detail pages.
How can we go about adding category links to GD template pages or the location switcher?
We previously had the GD Category widget in the sidebar on single listing pages, clicking on the category links would only take users to related listings, and for some categories, nothing would show up at all. Is that normal?
January 15, 2020 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Is it possible to add a "Go Back" button to single locations? #525797Thank you, unfortunately the customizations I’ve been able to find only go back to the previous page of one’s history rather than going to a specific page or listings. I’m hopeful that it will be incorporated into a future update of GeoDirectory!
To clarify, I am asking how to add the street, city etc. shortcode tags to the shortcode snippet in the Place tabs.
So under the “Show in what locations” section, it is shown in: Details page sidebar, listings page, and map bubble.
I have already adjusted the details page sidebar to reflect the appearance I would like.
Where can I access the editor location for the listings page appearance and the map bubble appearance?
Additionally, regarding the shortcode, you had added
[gd_post_address show="icon-label-value"]
How can I input these values so they display as Street, City, State, Country, ZIP?
%%street%%, %%city%%, %%region%%, %%country%%, %%zip%%
It currently displays as
Street
City
State
Country
ZIPThanks!
Hi there,
Thank you, that fixed the sidebar issue, however the full address is still not visible on the directory pages (see here http://destinationsouthernmaryland.alchemidesign.com/explore-legends/museums-historical-sites/)
Additionally, how can I modify the shortcode you had added to the description so it flows as Street, City, State, Country, ZIP?
Hi Alex,
Thank you for adding that code in, I see that it has appeared in the description boxes for locations.
How can I get full addresses to appear in the sidebar of a location (attached screenshot) and in the preview of all locations on a directory page? (also attached)
Is there a way to list the address with city, state and ZIP on the same line separated by commas in the description, on the sidebar and on the previews? For example:
13470 Dowell Road
Dowell, Maryland 20629Thank you for your help!

Do you know if the appearance of the Search button is at all fixable? I’d like for it to be a flat-looking button like in the first screenshot instead of a beveled button in the second screenshot.

Sorry! Thought I had included it. Here is a link where the issue can be seen: http://destinationsouthernmaryland.alchemidesign.com/explore-legends/
I feel silly. Thank you!!
Hi again,
I’m trying to access the map advanced settings and I don’t see a blue button or anything that says “advanced settings.”
I generated the map as a WordPress page builder “block” and then converted the page to an Elementor page to do some other customization. Within the block settings when generating the map (after trying to redo the process from the beginning in case Elementor was causing problems), there were no options for anything advanced.
I also want to change the zoom factor on the map, which I felt like I saw as an option at one point but I can no longer find that. Any thoughts?
I understand what you’re saying about unticking a category–but is it possible to have the unticking respond only to the primary category rather than all the categories? I hope that makes sense. As an example: if I wanted to hide all lodgings, it would hide those markers from the map even if they fall under other categories. Is that something I can work with in advanced settings?
Thanks!
