    Hello Stiophan!

1- I have no choice but to work with the actual search function, until you release the new search improvement, but I am really disappointed about this actual search function. it seems unfortunate that Geodirectory is not exploiting the possibilities of the Tags. Simultaneously,i will try to figure how to make things work, maybe by adding the tags in the listings’s description. We’ll see.

2- Am talking about my experience of adding a third box with my categories, Guust did the work for me. He created a new box in the search bar with all the categories, so users just have to pick one an the just add their tag in the second box. The result works but wasn’t nice looking. So I abandoned the idea.

    Hello Stiofan

I’m Sorry but your example is not working. It’s true that when I tried with Lyon city, the first example was Bo Sushi restaurant, which is a cacher restaurant, but if I change the city to Nice city for example, which have 5 cacher restaurants, the first page don’t show any of them. See : https://www.coeurdevilles.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=casher%2Crestaurant&snear=&set_location_type=3&set_location_val=1&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=

But if I only put casher, I find my 5 restaurants: https://www.coeurdevilles.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=casher&snear=&set_location_type=3&set_location_val=1&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=

    So the problem remain.

1- And even if it’s working with comma, this is not a solution. I mean,Geodirectory is a professionnal tool and am not suppose to put some text to explain to the user how to find exactly what he is looking for. In every user’s head, you just have to put your keywords and the engine will do the rest. The user will not use my website if there is comma, space or something else issue. He will leave to another one.

We’re talking about the main feature of this tool : to search and find in a directory. And this main and central work is not like it’s suppose to be. I mean when I go on yelp, trip advisor or thefork, there is no explanation about how the engine work. I just put what I need in the search box and then click on find…and the engine find. Plus, the engine find what I ask, not a mix of what I ask and God knows what else. If I try “restaurant halal” on yelp for the city of Nice, there is only 8 results, but 8 perfect results : 8 halal restaurants in Nice city. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the simple thing am asking to “The world’s most advanced and scalable WordPress directory plugin” aka Geodirectory with all features activated.

2- And the dropdown option is not a realistic one. Not because I don’t like it, even it’s not my favorite ( Thefork uses it well and its nice) but because it’s too messy. Categories stand with subcategories and all this in a one kilometer list.

3- You said : “You could enable advanced search in the Search field which will search for cats and tags and take them directly to the tag they want.” I already activated the advanced search, but maybe you are talking about something I didn’t understood. Maybe you can explain. Thanks

Thanks Guust. I delete two items, but the item “change location ” coming with the advanced search add-on remains. An idea about how to delete it? Thanks

    Questions 1-2-3
Ok I got it for the page title and subtitle. But I put No redirection on The GD advanced search settings and still got the near me option when I go to the homepage with this message ” Near: User defined “.

    Questions 4 and 5

Did you have a look on the search bar and the tags? For me the tags are not working.
Plus I add the third box for my categories. But It seems like the box is not really working. Maybe my option value are not good? (Restaurant/1,Hôtel/1,Shopping/1,Visiter/1)
When I select hotel in a city like Paris, there is no results. But when I write hotel in the second box, and Paris in the third box, I find my results.

    Hello !

I deactivated than reactivated geodirectory and the price add-on, than check again the data on the website and on phpMyAdmin. Everything seems back to normal. When I enable the free package on a listing all the data disappear, including the fields like phone and email. And when I enable the premium package, the data come back with the fields. Yesterday, it wasn’t the case, I don’t Know why. When I enable the free package, the fields remind but empty, no data. I don’t Know what happened but I really freaked out.

Thanks for the help. Great support with great reactivity.
