Sorry, I haven’t had time to look into this yet. I’ll let you know, how it worked, as soon as possible.
March 28, 2020 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Archive Item Template & Builder – Archive Item Section Widget #537229I inspected the page: The shortcodes create two separate div-containers (section left and section right), which are further controlled by the Loop Actions widget.
That means, as far as I understand it, whatever (static) styling you would apply via CSS (margin/padding), doesn’t fulfill its purpose correctly anymore, once the Loop Actions widget changes the order of these containers.
I don’t see any shared “parent” container for those two, which I could style.
March 27, 2020 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Archive Item Template & Builder – Archive Item Section Widget #537143Yes, absolutely. I don’t need any particular Elementor functionality for the Archive Item Template, I’d assume.
For the styling I have in mind, I only need to define some sort of div-container, a background-color, and padding and margin. Is that correct?

I would like to have visually individual containers for each listing in the loop. I can achieve this by adding a margin in the Archive Items template. But only, if I don’t use shortcodes, only widgets. But: the Archive Item Section widget doesn’t work.
Ok, so my take away message is: GD Listings and GD Loop provide very similar results, but GD Listings doesn’t auto-update and isn’t responsive to the Loop Actions widget.
Thanks for the clarification!
March 25, 2020 at 6:41 pm in reply to: Archive Item Template & Builder – Archive Item Section Widget #536780Well, kinda. The Archive Item Section widget provides the functionality for the Loop Action widget, plus I provides responsiveness.
For instance, if I create a two column layout in the Archive Item Template without the Archive Item Section widget, I cannot choose grid view anymore. Well, I can, but it’s broken. Grid 1 doesn’t change anything, and in Grid 2 everything is a mess.
Plus, without the Archive Items Section widget the Loop is not responsive anymore. When it gets too narrow, it jumps into Grid view – which is broken.

Wonderful! Thank you!
Got it!
It’s calc(100vh – header height in px)
Hi Kor, thanks for the quick reply.
I wanted to use a floating sticky container to display the map. For this I would have needed the map to fill the container to 100%.
I found a workaround, where I use vh instead of % for the map height, and make the map inself sticky. Works just as well.
One question though: For the map height, can I use something like “100vh – 100px”? I have tried, put it didn’t work.
The reason would be, that I want the height of the map to be 100% of the viewport MINUS the height of the header.
Thanks for your help.
Well, with the theme builder it works like a charm now.
Is there a reason why it works with blocks, but not with elementor-made columns and containers?
Yes!! With WP Blocks it works! Oh, happy day!
I don’t understand though, why it doesn’t work with elementors columns. Is it maybe an Elementor issue? Have you had better results with Beaver Builder?
In the long run I would like to be able to use a page builder. The styling options of blocks are pretty limited, but for a beta version I can get by for now.
Yes, that is the number I was referring to. In large parts of Europe that is the way an address is displayed (UK is a completely different story with their post codes).
Thanks for the clarification. I’ll have to be patient then.
