The widget and shortcode do not have any sorting options.

I will flag this topic for the developers, but, for this type of customization the general practice is to override the widget or shortcode template: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-geodirectory-templates/
It is possible to add additional widgets to the home page so they show up on the location pages, with or without the location filter, to make sure the pages aren’t empty.
CPT with no address – “How do I include an address component on the New Place Listing form?”
Check if you have disabled the address field by disabling the physical location of the CPT at :
Geodirectory – General – Select CPT to disable physical location
Remove the CPT from that setting if you want the address/location.

Yes, it works with Yelp Listings and Facebook Places and Events. Some users with new FB apps will need to submit their apps to FB for review before access is granted.

In general the issue you described is usually because of browser cache.
Refresh the page and do a ‘hard refresh’ of the browser:
