It seems to me you have the right shortcode.
Now you just need to give your users a way to find that URL so they can add an event.
You can try adding it to the menu as a custom link, so they can find it easily. Have you tried that?
Which one is that? Can you share a screenshot?
GeoDirectory does not have a field type like that, no, sorry.
I have seen some members use a custom post type like that, but there isn’t a field like that.

You can use a plugin like widget logic to show or hide widgets based on category.
Instead, though, I would recommend you not use a category called ‘Unverified’.
We recommend you use a badge that says “Unverified” or “Unclaimed” if the listing is not yet claimed.
GD will work with the basic cache settings of any major cache plugin, those included.
