Let’s assume you don’t choose one of the category autocomplate choices, those dropdown categories. Again, those go directly to the category archive pages, they are not search queries, they are just links.
Instead, in the search for type ‘restaurants’ and then in the near field type ‘a’ and wait for the near me to show, then click on near me. That would launch the browser geolocation if you had ssl and submit a search for restaurants near you.
No, and it’s not possible to claim a listing that has already been claimed.
Why wouldn’t the admin just claim them? If you have lots of listings you can bulk edit them by exporting the listings and editing them.
Hello,
Tags are great for creating ad-hoc groupings of listings.
We see a significant number of members that use tags only for admin groupings, and keep the tags field as an admin only option. They do that to hide the tags, so we haven’t done anything that automatically exposes those tags.
GeoDirectory does not offer a search bar option for tags or any other multi-select field. We are considering adding a form of search bar multi-select in the future, but we are sticking to single selects now and in the immediate future.
It can only be removed with CSS on the search page.

On other pages you can use the shortcode builder to adjust the options
The author box in the tabs is created by UsersWP
Visit the UsersWP author box settings to adjust it.You have GD Author actions to display on author page, that will not work for any case.
You should set GD Author actions in the sidebar for the Details page, and push it to the top. Set it to display on the details page only.
Good idea! I will ask the developers to consider it.
I tried that, no issue.
It is not necessary to use a new template, but you could do that, with a customization.
You can use GD Dynamic Content
Make a field like ‘show_logo’ and set it to default checked.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/gd_dynamic_content/
[gd_dynamic_content key="show_logo" condition="is_not_empty"] [gd_post_images type="image" slideshow="1" show_title="1" animation="slide" controlnav="1" types="logo" fallback_types="0"] [/gd_dynamic_content]
OK, unfortunately we don’t have a feature like that. I will add it as a feature request. The developers always consider adding popular feature requests.
In order to add listings outside the default location you will need the Location Manager addon
We are working on a big docs upgrade.
Timezone is updated when the address is ‘set on map’ – you could add some text to the field description to encourage users to adjust the location.
I will ask the developers if they have any other comments about it.
One idea, approach one of the 3rd party plugin authors and ask them to support GD importing.
I will add the idea to the list of parser requests for the developers to consider.
Thanks for reporting, the developers will look into it.
Unfortunately we don’t have a feature like that, and I don’t have any ideas how it would be accomplished with a 3rd party addon, either.
Categories would need some kind of inventory system, right? Nothing like that in GD right now.
Great
