You may find your custom CSS to work.
GD Post Images has an advanced option to adjust the object-fit CSS property.
I think you want to try “contain” instead of cover:
cover="n"[gd_post_images type="image" ajax_load="1" slideshow="1" show_title="1" animation="slide" controlnav="1" link_to="post" cover="n"]Only select fields and not multiselects can be used in the search bar.
For multiselect fields, they can be added to the “Search Filters” – the cog wheel on the search bar opens the drawer.

The problem is in your custom CSS. Check your customizer and see which rule is causing it. I have commented it out for the moment.
I have added it as a feature suggestion and the developers will consider adding it.

It looks like you might want to add the GD Output Location and GD Author Actions to the GD Listing Sidebar
If you have a new set of credentials to try let us know.
[gd_login_box] is not a GDV2 shortcode, it is for GDV1.
For BuddyPress you should seek out their dosc about login. From what I understand BP uses wp-login.phpA fix for the theme is coming, in the meantime try this CSS in the customizer
