Selecting from a Multiselect custom field

    I have a CPT with a custom multiselect field of type SELECT. I can’t see how the user can select multiple values from the list? It works fine if the type is CHECK but if it is SELECT the list seems to allow only one selection from the list. I’ve tried selecting with the shift or control key in combination with clicking on a value but only one value selection seems to stick. What am I doing wrong?
