Can you send over a search URL, and then tell us which listing is missing? A link to the listing is helpful.
I do not see any events or places listings. Maybe you want to add some dummy content?
About the search distance, you can set the default search distance. The UI setting in the search bar cannot override that.

No, we cannot provide that kind of CSS. This is the kind of CSS you will need to write for your own site.

1. I will flag your concern about duplicate content for the developers. One solution for you would be to create a separate “Excerpt” custom field and use that in your archive item template instead of post_content.
2. I do not see a trailing slash. Screenshot? Different link?
