Our specific use for the apps will probably not look like the app that is being developed.
Mostly cosmetic changes.
I would prefer interested developers contact me privately.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think I will stick with what I am doing now, which is editing the listing once the geolocation coordinates have been obtained. I just change the region to the island instead if the state of Hawaii. It means we have to manually do this for each new listing, but since it is a relatively small set of listings, it should be OK.
Is this something that could be added if I hired a developer to look at it, or is it something inherent in the design?
I know you couldn’t change the way the google side works, but maybe there is some other work around? Maybe build a table with the zip codes so that when the filtering is done, it can cross reference the zip code to find the island? I know it is an isolated thing for Hawaii, but someone else might want to filter on parrish or county.
September 26, 2014 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Notification of Reviews and Opportunity for Listing Owners to Respond #16682Is there a setting that will notify the owner when there is a review? Since it is a WP comment, there should be a way for the original poster (owner) to be notified when there is a comment? It would be an interesting add-on revenue source upgrade.
In the US this would be equivalent to filtering based on the county. Country-state-county-city-neighborhood.
That’s not quite ideal, because clicking home would be like clicking Massachusetts and would cause frustration to a user in Boston to have to constantly reset his location.
Thanks. If I use tags, then once a user selects an island, can the tags be used to limit the places displayed? For example, if you are in San Diego and you select that as your location, you would never see anything Boston when you do searches. How would the tags be used to filter the results for everything?
Also, once a person has selected an island, everything should be limited to only places on that island. They don’t care about the other islands.
If you look at the site, I have menu items for each of the islands on the top of the page. What would I need to do to get the menus to display a page of only places on that island if I added a field as you suggested? Sorry, I’m fairly new at this.
I was referring to the demo located here: http://gdfmodern.wpgeothemes.com/
Straight out of the box, the installed Modern theme does not look like the demo above. It takes a little tweaking to get it to be like that.
Actually, I figured it out. Thanks.
