Thanks so much, but your screenshot doesn’t show any comment field, although it appears to be in the code. Is that correct?
This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.Yes, I read that article before posting and think I’ve got it okay with the exception of the field that would allow a brief description. My issue with that is I have no idea what it would be called or how to format it properly.
Appreciate any help.
I know it’s my confusion with what you are asking that is the problem here. I created a menu called Business Directory and specified the location as vp guest menu which then shows up in the design/navigation tab in GeoDirectory, so the terminology is the same. I am very confused by why you think this is any issue for the theme developer. This is basic WordPress code and nothing special about the theme. As I said I used GeoDirectory before and with a completely different theme. I had no problems getting a unique menu on the GeoDirectory page, I thought by following the exact same procedures as detailed in your documentation.
It sounds like you are finished trying to help me so I don’t know what to do now other than try to find another directory plugin. I like GeoDirectory though and would prefer to keep using it if possible.
Thank you for trying to help me though.
Sorry. confused. The Business Directory menu (vp_guest_menu) is for the GeoDirectory page. I’m sorry if I don’t understand you.
The Business Directory menu is the vp guest menu. I selected this menu in the GeoDirectory navigation tab.
I did that first, assuming it might be the primary menu for the directory, but it changed my total main menu to only show the Business Directory setup on the homepage for the site. I’ve created the unique menu, assigned it as the vp guest menu and added it to the navigation tab in GeoDirectory, so I don’t know why it isn’t working.
Sorry, I jumped the gun. I assigned that menu to the vp guest menu and then specified that in GeoDirectory including the checks on the listing detail, but nothing is showing up. What am I missing?
Yes, I read that but I am not following this –
Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations: Here you can select menu locations from your theme to show GeoDirectory menu settings as set from the below settings.
The Business Directory menu that I created does not show up to be selected.
Okay, I assumed it was what I wanted because the subject was “header image”.
Can I ask if there is documentation on creating a menu for the directory. I know I did this for the previous sites in Ecuador but the sites are all gone now. I created a menu called Business Directory with the GeoDirectory items like “Add Listing” but when I went to the navigation tab in GeoDirectory that menu does not show.
Appreciate your help.
I understand about customization but someone else had posted the same question and you were nice enough to provide the code, which I added to my site. I just wasn’t sure why it wasn’t working.
Totally cool! Thank you SO much!
While you are being so helpful maybe you can have a look at the custom CSS I got from one of your posts to show an image on the home page for the directory and then the maps on the various category pages. I hope to replace the image with a slider as well.
Thanks!
