Good stuff! I think this answered my question. I want the directory page to show a slider with full screen images representing the various categories, such as restaurants, hotels and so on, with the various categories shown below. That appears to be doable according to the post above.

My next question is one I have tried to research on your support pages and features but I can’t seem to find it. Once a user clicks, for example, on “Hotels” on the main page I want the resulting page to just show hotels on the map and then the hotel listings as normal. Is that possible?

I previously used the plugin on sites for Ecuador so I am a little familiar with it. I am now building city portals for Mexico and wanted to use your plugin again.

    Thank you for your help.

    hi,

please always open your own topics.

Yes it is possible, if you insert dummy data you will see that it works like that out of the box.

    Thanks

I wasn’t sure whether to start a new topic on this but thought this might be related. I can’t seem to get the GeoDirectory page to come up using the URL for my site, AjijicToday.com and /location. Something appears to be wrong with the installation and I don’t know how to correct it. I have asked my theme developer for a JSON code to see that the plugin is compatible but they have no clue what I am talking about. I’ve attached a screenshot of the GeoDirectory page.

    Appreciate your help.

Please provide admin and FTP credentials and we’ll check what is creating that conflict.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve flagged your topic for a developer. It might be that you don’t get a reply till Monday because i think they are already all off for the week end.

    Thanks for your patience,

Do you think the theme issues are why I can’t get the directory up? I put a custom link on the main menu – http://www.ajijic.com/location but it does nothing.

That is not the right website: http://ajijictoday.com/location/

The location page looks empty because you don’t have any widgets in place in Appearance >> Widgets >> GD Home Top Section and so on. Also from design >> home you had disabled both the top section and the right sidebar.

You also have a problem with permalinks. Please select %/postname/% and not any strange custom structure like you have now.

    Thanks

Sorry, as I said, I had deleted the plugin and reinstalled it because of the weird issues on the navigation page. AjijicToday.com is the right site. I’m looking at it and just got a notice that you had logged in.

I’m logged out now, also make sure to remove W3 total cache, that caching pluging is not compatible.

You can use wp super cache + autoptimize instead.

    Thanks

    Done.

Any thoughts on why /location is not working? I would like to work on it on the weekend if possible.

Totally cool! Thank you SO much!

While you are being so helpful maybe you can have a look at the custom CSS I got from one of your posts to show an image on the home page for the directory and then the maps on the various category pages. I hope to replace the image with a slider as well.

    Thanks!
