Final update for now – I can’t get the Whoop theme to work and save it’s settings so I’ve gone back to directory starter for now.
An update – I’ve uploaded the wordpress directory from a back up made this morning to the server. This then gave me the ability to change file permissions. I set style.css permissions to 777 on both the Geodirectory theme and the whoop child and the colour still didn’t change on the website.
There is a lot of content in the style.css file now.
This is becoming interesting and could be more of a server issue.
I cant change the file permissions on the server with Plesk on anything in the Themes directory. It seems the files and folders are assigned to a group ‘Apache’ rather than ‘psacin’. At this point it’s starting to get a bit beyond my knowledge so I will have to call my VPS supplier unless there’s anybody clever out there who can point me in an obvious direction.
One other thing I have done which may have coincided with this is install an SSL certificate so I could use geolocation. I used a WordPress plugin Really Simple SSL to get it all working with an SSL. I notice in the ftp settings in Plesk SSH is forbidden and I have a range of options to select /bin/sh and /bin/bash being two of them. Being completely unsure about the implications of this I’m going to do further research before I change things.
I’ll post updates as I find stuff.

header nav .nav li{border-right:0px solid inherit;}
Is all that’s in the file.
It does look like it is not getting written for some reason. Where should I be checking the permissions. I have my own VPS so can alter file permissions if needed or are they wordpress internal permissions?
Thanks
ColinHi Kor,
Thanks for your reply. I’m using Whoop 1.0.7 and child 1.0.0 downloaded from the download area a few days ago. It’s being used on a single website.
I’m happy to give you temp admin access to the site. Is setting a reply as private the best way to get login details to you securely?
