Hi Stiofan,
I used https://tools.pingdom.com/ and the load time is still an issue. I changed hosting to a VPS in order to improve the performance for production but didn’t improve that much. My guesses are either php memory limit, too many requests or hostnamelookups since the main issue is wait time at the server at the beginning of the load and sometimes s2member plugin gets a high processing time (even though deactivating it doesn’t really solve the load time problema).
Could you please recommend the php memory limit to set on the server? (balanced so that doesn’t use too much virtual memory, nor reduce the total memory used by concurrent requests availability from several users and processes at once), my VPS is 2 GB and the php memory limit is set at 48M.
I contacted my hosting provider and their response was that there is a wp-json request communicating to a external source (I guess api.w.org) and they didn’t recommend me increasing my php memory limit.
Since I have few plugins other than Geodirectory I guess you have better ideas to improve load time.
Thank you Guust, crystal clear. I have another question, while adding a listing you can drag the place over the map and Google API will return the address including the city name. When importing a new places database how can I make sure the city I declare for listings matches Google’s city spelling so that I don’t have duplicate cities (alias), I mean the ones I uploaded in batch and the others that users will be creating draging the pointer over the map that can have a different spelling creating two “different” cities in listing pages.
I hope I made myself clear. I use your recommended geocode latitudeandlongitude tool but I don’t know if that one uses the exact city names as Google when draging the map.

James’ workaround Works great in native (en-US) language, unfortunatelly I created a .mo version in Spanish and for some reason it doesn’t take the Copyright changes. I also tried the code snippets but gets a duplicate Copyright text, any idea what may be wrong?. I have tried it in many ways to customize to only show Copyright (c), no theme or powered by wordpress reference.

Paolo, in this particular case I refer to number 2 which is fully related to geo-directory plugin, the other two ones I can control them with the other plugin.

I have been doing some research about Paypal API and sometimes changing the charset in Paypal fixes it, do you know the one geodirectory is using while reaching paypal?
