November 24, 2014 at 1:20 pm in reply to: Different days for events creates different listings #22442Hi Stiofan,
I wanted to add the “Multiple feature pictures for multiple days Events” request, but I was ashamed to tell everybody I couldn’t find how to post new requests on the dedicated page 🙁 I don’t see any link with the “Add new feature request”… or something similar.
Regards,
gianniThanks Stiofan,
Have a nice week!
gianniThanks Stiofan! and thanks Guust!
It’s now working on all notifications, and the emails are showing the right “Sent from” email address, not my bluehost user name.
Did you change something that will be overwritten during the next update? Thanks again,
best regards,

GianniNovember 21, 2014 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Different days for events creates different listings #22179Hi there,
my site is not live yet, but this is what I’m planning to ask users about events for multiple days, and maybe during several weeks, one day per week:Will your Event be open for new participants after the first day?
1- If the answer is NO (like a seminar or a course), then set the event date only on the first day, and be clear in the description how long the course will be and that participants will have to enroll since the beginning.
2- If the answer in YES (like a Film festival from monday to friday, or every friday for 4 weeks), then set the Event on each date, cause it’s more important for me (and the user) to have visitors seeing the Event each and every time it’s up, in order to have them going to the event.
I support Stiofan point: calendar has to show 3 separated event listings if the event occurs in 3 different days.
BUT, if user could assign different featured images when selecting the start and end time for each day (at the begin of the Event submission page), I wouldn’t mind to have 3 repeated events with the same title (ie. New York Film Fest) only IF they could show 3 different pics.
If you pay attention, that’s the trick used by News Media: they keep some relevant news all day long, but they keep changing the pics to make visitors think there’s something new all the time.
Sorry if I write twice on the same topic, but I believe I didn’t explain my point clear the first time.
Best regards,

November 20, 2014 at 9:04 pm in reply to: How to mark all category for places in homepage map #22088Hi Paolo, you’re 100% right, the behavior is as you intended to be.
Please, understand I don’t want to push you, I just want to explain why I believe GeoTheme home-map was way more practical for users than the actual GD behavior.
GeoDirectory owners may have 10 or more categories on the home-page map for the default CPT, and if User decides to see all listings from Cat3, we’ve only two options:
Option 1- Let all 10 or more categories ticked when user land to home page: all markers from all categories would be shown together, and in order to see only listing from Cat3, user will have to untick manually the other 9 or more categories (9 or more clicks);
Option 2- Select in the back-end only one category to be shown ticked on the map (ei. Cat1), and for User to be able to see listings from Cat3, he has to untick Cat1 (then getting the “No records found“) and then tick Cat3. This way user only click 2 times, BUT he gets the nefastus “NO records found” message :'(
At the moment, the only way for users to see in just 1 click all listings from Cat3, is to leave all categories unticked, get the “No records found on” the home page and then let the user to tick the category he wants to see.
With GeoTheme, user sees a home page map full of markers (happy visitor) and with one click he can see quickly what he’s looking for (cat3).
Sorry for me being such a pain, I’m extremely happy with GeoDirectory so I hope you wont read this post as a bad opinion or review of it.
Best regards,
gianniThanks Stiofan,
GianniI definitely agree with you about the need of a character limit rule, if the submission form restricts the title length (like the Tag input area) as you pointed out.
Thanks Guust 😉
