Hi Kor
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the link Number 1. has not helped as my settings are the same as the guide!
In respect of number 2. In V1 there was an option to restrict image upload size to 300kb and the wp installation had exactly the same media sizes as V2, V2 does not restrict image upload and it changes the sizes for the small listing page. ie it increases the size. So if a customer uploads a 300 x 300 image then it is shown as 1400 x 788.
As wordpress sizes in both installations (dev and live) are set the same then, despite what it says in your guidelines, the mini listing page MUST be defining the size of the image shown in the slider. How else would it show/call the image and as the settings are exact same size as the V1 version then I would suggest that as the image in the mini listing appear massive, that it is pulling in the large image size of wp.
If that is the case then there must be a way of defining the size of the image shown in the slider of the mini listing.
Hope that makes sense and we can find a resolution.
Thank you.
Kind regards
Hi Alex
Thank you sooo much thats just perfect – I never would have got that. I have now been able to port the dev website over to the Live Website and just have two minor things outstanding.
1. The permalinks – I notice in settings at there is the normal wp permalinks settings and underneath the gd permalinks as a second set. I am not sure what I need to do to get rid of the error i have detailed in my original support query as the settings appear to be the same in live and dev site.
2. Same thing with the images. They are showing really large and out of focus for the people who registered. The media settings are same in both sites. Is there somewhere to adjust the size of the images uploaded?
The site to see now is the Live site which you have the address for and password etc if you need it is the same.
Again, thank you loads for your help, it is very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Hi Alex
Because of what I said above. You cant put much there as anything more than the left column wont show up. The links dont work ie email picks up the email address, facebook etc no links, website no links
Surely the layout should be achievable to look like it did before and on your demos? Everything appears to be set up in the gd pages for the look of the mini listings BUT it does not follow through and you just get the default sidebar !
Also still have the permalink problem and also the image sizes which are huge.
Also the shortcode editor does not appear on some of the pages so difficult to edit any of those ie the gd pages.
Kind regards
Hi Alex
Yes sorry, no www!
1. Thank you thats perfect now.
2. With regard to the sidebar – this is still not showing as it should. I tried changing the default sidebar and adding some gd items BUT some detail is pulled through and not others ie the facebook link etc does not work and you cannot add items that will take the column below the height of the left side as they just dont show!
Looking at the archive page and the archive item page – they should produce the correct look with all the information in but they are not.
I have tried changing default template, editing the normal sidebar BUT nothing is working.
The layout as explained and shown in the video in your reply for item 2 just dont work.
If I try to edit the page the shortcode maker does not appear. I can add a block and then add some gd elements but they do not look right.3. The set up wizard is for a new install so I dont want to run that as this is a conversion and that will overwrite my data.
4. I can get round most things but the conversion has not pulled through the default layout for some reason so I need to know how to do that.
5. I still have the permalinks problem even though the settings are correct.
I have read and re read the instructions but I still cannot get it to look as it should. I am using X Pro from themco so some guidelines are just for your own templates.
Would appreciate your help as I see you created a page called aaa and this shows the problem with the sidebar ie its picking up the default one and NOT the GD one.
I really hope that you can help with this as its the last few things before I can get this swapped out for my client.
Many Thanks.
Kind regards

OK so bigger changes than I thought. Before I go and do the clients website can you tell me what is going to happen to V1 – I mean if I do not update what will this mean. Are you still going to support V1 and keep the code updated or is it going to become a legacy version?
I still have the permalink problem as my initial support note and also I have set up a widget BUT even using the same parameters as before, it is not showing any posts.
I have a featured posts on the home page (two rows of four). In V1 the shortcode was as follows:
[gd_listings post_type=”gd_therapy” layout=4 category=”1,3″ post_number=”8″ show_featured_only=”1″]In V2 I selected the widget GD_Listings and filled out the extra parameters using the numbers above. However nothing shows on the page.
My question before was, is that the right one to use to show featured listings on a page, and in the posts id have i got to list the actual post number or is it going to pick up the fact that I have made the post a featured post?
I will try the login plugin that you mentioned.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
March 15, 2019 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Various problems since upgrading – theme – page builder – shortcodes #474740Hi There
After reading more documentation and testing on the spare website I have found that Every shortcode has to be replaced by a Widget so I now have to go through every page and change these. Some are obvious which shortcodes they correlate to but others are not. Is there a list anywhere that shows the new against old?
However I cant find one for Login and I still have the other problems.
Getting there!
Kind regards
Hi Thanks – no problem I can do myself just wanted to save time.
