    Hi There

I am using XPro from Themeco. Website was fine on version V1 however after upgrading a test copy of the website the following was experienced.

I followed the upgrade instructions to the letter.

    1. Shortcodes not working ie not visible in editing area of Cornerstone which is used by the theme. There is no icon to make up a shortcode as per your documentation. This is affection the whole site as no logins – pages empty etc.
    2. Map page not showing google map.
    3. Error in dashboard re permalinks
GeoDirectory permalink error the following rule appears twice: ^therapies/([^/]*)/?$
Try making the GeoDirectory permalinks more unique.

I have looked at your post for the fix but cannot find anywhere to actually change any permalinks as the tab is not visible in V2.

    4. Business boxes on the home page are all over the place with “read me” text over shadowed text (this may be because the shortcode is not working not sure).

All the data seems to be there so It may be that I have misinterpreted or missed something so could you please advise. I am happy for you to look in the admin area of the test site if that helps.

    Kind regards

    Hi There

After reading more documentation and testing on the spare website I have found that Every shortcode has to be replaced by a Widget so I now have to go through every page and change these. Some are obvious which shortcodes they correlate to but others are not. Is there a list anywhere that shows the new against old?

However I cant find one for Login and I still have the other problems.

    Getting there!

    Kind regards

    Hi Eileen,

We no longer provide our own login/register scripts in GD, we leave it open so you can use any user management plugin you wish, though we do recommend our own: https://wordpress.org/plugins/userswp/

I will look at the corenerstone issue now. You can always insert shortcodes into the text block manually.

If anything else is still outstanding let us know.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi Stiofan

OK so bigger changes than I thought. Before I go and do the clients website can you tell me what is going to happen to V1 – I mean if I do not update what will this mean. Are you still going to support V1 and keep the code updated or is it going to become a legacy version?

I still have the permalink problem as my initial support note and also I have set up a widget BUT even using the same parameters as before, it is not showing any posts.

I have a featured posts on the home page (two rows of four). In V1 the shortcode was as follows:
    [gd_listings post_type=”gd_therapy” layout=4 category=”1,3″ post_number=”8″ show_featured_only=”1″]

In V2 I selected the widget GD_Listings and filled out the extra parameters using the numbers above. However nothing shows on the page.

My question before was, is that the right one to use to show featured listings on a page, and in the posts id have i got to list the actual post number or is it going to pick up the fact that I have made the post a featured post?

I will try the login plugin that you mentioned.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards

    Hi Eileen,

I have just added support for cornerstone, they were using JS to remove all non cornerstone buttons :/

For the permalinks have u tried just saving them? Or if u have location manager you may need to adjust the permalinks a bit, there are several options there (in the normal WP permalinks settings).

If you can provide wp-admin and FTP i can apply the cornerstone patch to your site.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Can u double check the FTP details, it seems to connect but it does not get the list of directories.

The permalinks seem correct, it might be a false positive from a conflict, i’ll check more when i have FTP.
