There is no option to circumvent that. I doubt there is a simple fix for it, but will get the developers to have a look at your question too.

Oops, spotted the problem now.
You have added the widget to one of four widget areas, and there is not more room than 25% of the page width, so the widget goes to one column.

Because most likely the latitude and longitude coordinates end up being zero putting the marker in the ocean on the equator.
Have a look at the coordinates when that happens.

You can always drag the marker to the correct spot, and fill in the address manually.
