View one of the articles you have written, and you should see all the links to the category only for example.

Use the GD Listings element and filter by Featured only.
That will add it in the content area.
If you want to add it to the featured area, you need to customize this page:

I am not sure where you are trying to remove the sidebar, but that is usually done by using the “Full width” page template for the page in question.

You should not use BuddyPress AND UsersWP together, you should only use one of them. We can help with UsersWP but not with BuddyPress. BuddyPress is not our product.
If you want to use BuddyPress, delete UsersWP and use the GD-BP integration addon: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/buddypress-integration/
But only UsersWP has a Social Login addon, so alternatively you can delete BuddyPress and then we [but maybe not me then] can help with that.
But you will need to choose one or the other.
