I cannot find them either anymore. What are the remaining problems?
September 9, 2019 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Is it possible to display other locations by distance in a compact list? #507263Have a look at GD > Settings > Pages > Archive item, and try adding code like this:
<div style="float: left">[gd_post_title tag='h3']</div> <div style="float: right">[gd_post_address show="icon-label-value" address_template="%%city%%, %%zip%%, %%region%%"]</div>That will put the title and address on the same line, adjust as required.
Compare the columns: they do not match with your export file.
You do not have “contactpersons” or “business_hours” column in your import file.
And in the import file, you have columns that do not match any custom field, for example “image_test”.It looks like you are not using LibreOffice or OpenOffice, because some fields are containing “invalid” characters. For example, see the image attached.
The street addresses you are importing are not street addresses only, but contain the full address including city, region and post code.
The “street” field should only contain the street address.Try importing using a correctly formatted CSV file.
Thanks
It works fine with a category selected [sports events] and dates [11-16 sept] for example:
http://ostsee-insel-usedom.com/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_event&spost_category%5B%5D=223&event_dates%5Bfrom%5D=20190911&event_dates%5Bto%5D=20190916&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=To delete the category search option, delete it from
Veranstaltungen > Settings > Search tab > Kategorie (right hand side). Thanks
1) What does mean the fourth phrase “Any sorting options that you create will also be available for use with GD Listings.”?
For example, if you enable sorting by package in the Places settings, then that option will also become available to sort listings in the GD Listings widget.
2) With “Package” sorting option, how listings are sorted within each package group of listings? I have the impression that they are randomly sorted.
If you do not set up secondary sorting, then the default is that newest listings will show first.
3) I notice duplicated listings showing in succesive sorting result pages. Some listings show up to three and four times. Why is this happening and how can it be avoided? I am affraid that duplicated listings take the place of other listings that never show across the sorting result pages.
That should not be happening. If you can give us full details how we can re-create that on your site, then we can have a look.
To be frank, I find sorting to be GD weakest feature by far. Setting it up is extremely confusing, I think it does not allow to do very basic things, I am never able to get it to do what I am expecting or I am looking to do, I have been unable to make “Is Featured?” sorting work and so on.
Let us know in which CPT you have been trying that, then we can check your settings.
Thanks
You should have had a message all the time to install WP Easy Updates, see image.
This question is for this thread AND the other I suppose, will the updates not work if I did not install the addons through the extensions page? They show active and are asking for license keys in the default wordpress area.
Updates will work if you have added a valid license. It does not matter how you installed them, it is the license that is important.
Installing from the GD Extensions will add the correct license automatically. Also : Can we please autofeed plugin keys if we enter our main GeoDirectory key (additional suggestion with the suggestion from above 🙂 ) . One Key – quickest install.
That is how it works if you first enter your membership license.
Thanks
Listings with unknown locations can not be displayed on the maps.
It just is not possible to show them somewhere if you do not know where they are.
You can add anything you like in the address field, but it cannot be blank. For example, you can add “Unknown”, and then add lat and lng and then it will work. All of those errors are because incorrect or incomplete data.
Fix the errors by saving the listings in the backend, and then export the listings.
Compare with you upload file and you will see all the differences. That should tell you how to correctly import in the future.Correct, it is all explained at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/import-export/#not-a-valid-csv-file
WordPress does not allow the upload of CSV files (by default). You may see one of several different errors when trying to upload a CSV file, all of which are telling you that you cannot upload a CSV file.
To get around this, install this plugin which makes your site allow the upload of CSV files:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-real-mime-check/Once you have uploaded your files, then you can deactivate and delete the plugin.
Thanks
The ones I looked at fail because there is no data in the address field.
Try saving them to see the error.Add your membership license at GD > Extensions and you can install all themes and plugins from the extensions page then.
Thanks
Try saving your imported listings in the backend. You will see they miss required data. That is why they cannot show.
Add the “all_posts” option to the map element, for example if you are using shortcodes:
[gd_map zoom="0" map_type="archive" all_posts="1"]Thanks
You’re welcome
