I guess Stiofan means that the Upgrade link allows you to submit the same listing for another year or whatever other term you have set.
So the Upgrade link is the Renew link.Look at http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-place-settings/#custom
Look for “Show as a tab on Detail page?” on that page.

Can you turn off your CSS minifier from your theme.
That is breaking the GD CSS.PS: if you add the advanced search in a sidebar, it probably will break into lines.

GD > general > general > Allow user to see wp-admin area > NO
That will activate the GD login page.To add the map to the search page: Appearance > widgets > GD-Gmap Listing page.
You will need to use CSS to change those things, that would be way simpler than anything else. Can you also post the URL of the pages where you want to change something. You can do that in a private message.

The only known fix to me is upgrade IE 🙂
IE8 is not supported by Microsoft anymore either, and is now 3 versions behind.
