Geodirectory plugin will work with any theme (except GeoTheme).
More info here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/about/
It is GeoTheme.2 🙂@ Brian, just some comments that not really fix your problems, but …
1. Listing slider widget is really design to be added to the content section, not the sidebar. It will need some CSS work for the sidebar I think.
2. See purpleedge’s link
3. That has been flagged and is on the to do list.
Add this to your CSS:
. geodir-i-radio {margin-right: 3px;}In your browser, right-click on the part of the page you want to adjust, and choose Inspect Element, that will give you the opportunity to adjust your css on the live site, once you figured it out, add the relevant CSS to your stylesheet.
You can only add maps to GD pages, because only GD pages connect to the database to render the maps.
Don’t reactivate your other widgets until you have GD working.
Hi Ajay, just a few things that you need to review and fix before we can have a look again.
1. You have installed the same theme twice, and are not using a child theme.
2. You have at least 3 locations for Calcutta in GD > Location manager > Manage locations.
You will have to merge these locations.
You can only have one entry for a location in your locations database. When creating a location, allow the API enough time before saving.
3. You have a lot of active plugins. Deactivate as many as possible and get the basics working first, then activate one by one while testing your site.Works fine for some sites I know off. Can you provide some links.
Have you checked your settings for the custom field: is the custom field set to show on the detail page?
The options are ON and OFF.
Disable your GeoDirectory Share Location plugin if you do not want to use it.
The reason why “the map disappears” is because the user will be taken to the closest location that is in your database, and if there are no listings for that query, the system will say that there are no records at that location for the query.Make sure you add the Location Switcher to your menu if you want people to browse to other locations.
Tick the box at
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=geodirectory&tab=managelocation_fields&subtab=geodir_location_settingRight, it finally got there.
There are a number of problems I think, with permalinks and Location manager.
I split this topic so you can post your admin login, so we can have a look at your settings.Hi Ajay
Your site is very slow.
It never asked me for my location, so do you have Location Share addon activated?Nasc, I rated for both of your overall ratings, and the first one is the main one and therefore shows up.
The other reviewer only rated the additional set, not the main one.
I hope that explains together with Paolo’s message.Right, posts crossed.
Don’t directly see the difference between what you’ve done and what the GDF welcome widget does if you link it to the favorite section of the author page …As it currently is the logged in link goes to the “author” page: a landing page for the individual that has links to all their favorites, links to edit any listings they might have submitted and links to add a listing. At this time you cannot show the user’s reviews there.
That is if you set it up that way at
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=geodirectory&tab=design_settings&active_tab=geodir_navigation_settingsYour other question is about having a link in your main menu that says “Your Favorites” and goes to the particular user’s favorites page.
I think that would pose quite a few problems for a number of reasons:
1. The link should be a dynamic link that knows who is logged in [not a problem]
2. But how can that work if you are not logged in [not possible I think]
3. You could solve that with having a link to Favorites that only shows if you are already logged in [but that is not different from what I suggested earlier]
4. There is no page that shows all your Favorites, unless you only have one CPT [which you do for the moment – but maybe not later]
5. Might be difficult to add to the menuSo just in your case [because you use GDF and have only one CPT] you could maybe change the function in
wp-content/themes/GeoDirectory_framework/library/geodirectory_framework.php
and that would change the link in the GDF welcome widget to the favorites page instead of the general landing page for the user.Did you by any chance use a non-standard character, like a french character when creating the new CTP?
Vikas will take over from here. We’ll need your phpadmin too, and maybe FTP.
What’s the URL, Tony?
