nasc, what about something like this: http://goldroo.net/sample-page/
That is what I use on my sites, it shows everybody all the differences, and the submit button goes straight to the correct submission form.
No coding required, just add a table to a page and add the correct link.Oops, now I get it.
I’m not to sure how to accomplish that, we’ll have to ask the smart ones, I think. That seems to require some major work. Or it might just be a bit of CSS work …
You can always add it to a text widget above everything else on any page, like http://goldroo.net/ ? It seems to be designed to be just on a page though?Sorry, not sure I understand. You can drill down with the location switch, can’t you, see image.
I am not that familiar with GeoTheme, so if I am missing your point we might have to ask one of the others. Can you go to WP > Settings > Reading > and set “Blog pages show at most” to about 10.
Is that set to 1 for the moment?Just use “GD – Multilocations – Main Navigation Settings – Show location switcher in menu”
Make sure you have set “Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations” to the main menu.Do you mean that when you click on a category on the map, the map shows 5 listings? That is how it is supposed to be.
Do you want a link to a category from the map? That is not possible because there might be a listing in China and one in Nigeria in that category.Bu you can always create links to category in menus or widgets etc.
Or am I misunderstanding your question?
A link and more detailed explanation would be handy. This reply has been marked as private.Might have to wait for Vikas. This is a windows server, I am not used to them 🙁
This reply has been marked as private. This got me stumped, I think there might be some problems with your config file settings.
Can you post your FTP details, and I’ll get Vikas in here. This reply has been marked as private. The switcher thing is nothing to do with search, only with geographical navigation: see the image and http://wpgeo.directory/location/all/illinois/chicago/ for example
For the moment if you want your categories in a drop down menu you will have to use the WP system like you say.
I think you cannot find a listing for a dog sitter search because there is no such term in the title, tag or description of any listing.
If you search for dog sitting you get results because that term is in the heading of one of your listings in nottingham. The map and all the widgets are independent of each other.
Sally, you can add as many popular post view widgets to your Listings pages.
There are never any relationships between categories, only between listings, so therefore relationships can only be shown in relation to another listing, not to a category.
If you want to relate some categories to each other, then you have the options to roll both categories into one, or to make subcategories of the categories.
The GD structure is built for this: CTP > category > subcategory
So you could have
Tourism > Accommodation > B&B
Tourism > Accommodation > Hotel
Tourism > Attractions > Landmarks
Tourism > Attractions > ZoosYou could get all of the above on the same map, by choosing Tourism from the ribbon, and leaving all categories boxes ticked. You can untick any of the category boxes to drill down to Zoos only on your map.
Sally, I really think your site would benefit from reducing your number of CTPs and categories drastically. The more different categories and CTPs you have, the less likely people will find something. You cannot have a different category for every possible listing.
If you rather have the listings shown on the page instead of the map, you can always turn the maps off, and then you have an ordinary directory.
If you use multi-location, you really should use the switcher, so people can navigate back and forth.

Look on my test site to see the switcher: http://goldroo.netPurpleedge, those are categories.
To create a list of Italian restaurants, you could create a CTP restaurants, and a category Italian.
Or you create a CTP Food+Drink, and a category restaurants, and a subcategory Italian.
Have a look at the main map on my test site, you’ll see the subcategories on the map to let you drill down.Sophie, you have not translated any of the language strings for the GD plugin, and you have not created any mo and po files for any of the other plugins.
For example, I have translated Favorite to J’aime following the instructions for CodeStyling. You can see the result on the homepage.
Read from “The Plugin Mainpage – Rescan PHP Source Files” at http://www.code-styling.de/english/development/wordpress-plugin-codestyling-localization-enThe linking between places and events is being worked on, a bug was found.
Events that are on more than one day (25 + 26) will be shown for both days.
All your others only take place on one day. From themetailors GT vouchers:
“GT Vouchers is ONLY for GeoTheme. It will NOT work with WPGeoDirectory yet.” -
