1. That is how it should work if they type an address [for example Main Street …], then the listings will show around the address, but if visitors type a city name, they usually want to know what is in that city, not just what is around/near the center of that city.
Example: https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/2. That looks like you are not using the zoom or location filter for that map.

Go to
UsersWP > General tab > Author Box sub-tab > and edit the settings there.
You are adding the Author Box to the description of all places there.I enabled
UsersWP > General tab > Profile sub-tab > Show Advanced > Disable author redirect to UsersWP profile page
and now users can edit their listings from their profile page:

Change the page attribute from “default template” to “GD Single New Style” at
GD > Settings > General tab > Pages sub-tab > GD Details page > Edit > under “Page Attributes”, change the template.Thanks
You can open all links on that page by adding
<base target="_blank">to the head section of the page using the Header and Footer Scripts plugin.
To only apply target=”_blank” to the links of particular widgets would require customization. I’ll get a developer to check if there is an easy way, or if you need to find your own developer.

You can use the GD Listings widget for that. For example use the “Special offers” field and a file upload field, and then limit the GD Listings widget to listings with Special Offers only and any further limitations you want to use.
