Banner Advertising for Listing owners

    Again, another feature of PHPmydirectory that I thought was worthwhile, but is missing in Geo, is Banner advertising. Where a ‘place’ listing owner can upload a banner image and this is banner is displayed throughout the website (using controls to dictate where and when etc).

    This will only increase the number of pages the visitor views on their visit to the website. The PMD software also tracked the number of impressions and clicks that the banners generated – but I appreciate that Geo does not have the capability of tracking that kind of thing sadly. None the less the banner system would be useful if I could suggest this as a feature request?

    Thanks I wondered if it could be added to the listing admin, so a banner image could be uploaded there.

    Again, more of a feature request.

    As you can tell I am missing all the great, built-in features in PHPMyDirectory!

    Hi Matthew,

    Thanks for your reply. No, you cannot add this 3rd party plugin feature into GD. You can eventually collect payments from your customers and add the advertisements manually in the backend.

    You can use the GD Listings widget for that. For example use the “Special offers” field and a file upload field, and then limit the GD Listings widget to listings with Special Offers only and any further limitations you want to use.
