You cannot import CPTs, only listings, so I am not sure what you have done.
Did you set up the same CPT first with exactly the same settings?
Are you importing the images without any reference to the old site? Did you delete all the URL bits in front of the image file name, and re-uploaded the image to the correct folder?

Export the new listings, and compare your earlier import file with the new export file, that should give you some hints.

Without seeing the page you are talking about, we do not know what is showing there at the moment.
So if you cannot figure it out, post URL and WP admin details in a private reply, together with details of the page where you are trying to hide things and exactly what.

There are probably a few ways.
Change the CSS for the search widget, and add an image as a background.
Or add an image in a widget, and then with CSS move the search over it.
