I had the timeout limit increased for testing purposes, but the problem persisted.

I cannot even import small files now.

I used the code you supplied as is (my category is gd_place and the free package is also ID 1), but the widget is still displaying for all packages.

Correction: smaller files will not successfully import anymore. The import stops after a few listings have been imported. Screenshot attached.

Okay, so larger files can now be uploaded, but not be imported.

Even though I can now upload a file that is more than 2mb, I cannot import data from a file that is more than 2mb. Files that are less than 2mb seem to work fine still.

    Here’s what happens:
The “Import data now” button shows up, and when clicked, “Wait, processing import data…” is briefly displayed (attached image), but then it disappears and the status of the import remains at zero (attached image) and nothing further happens.

I have tested this in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

I updated to the new version and tried uploading the example file I sent to you, which is around 4mb. I get the following error message:

File size error. : You tried to upload a file over 2mb

Fantastic. Any estimate as to when that update will be available?

    Thanks.

The new code works great! The progress bar is a nice touch.

I have been able to import up to 5,000 records at a time now. I am sure I would be able to do more, but the “Select & Upload CSV” part of the process seems to only allow me to use files of less than 1.5 MB. Is there any way for me to upload even larger file sizes?

Update: If anyone is looking to bulk delete locations, you can just select them all, merge them into one primary city, and then delete that city. It worked well for me.

Thank you. Would this be something that would be released in a new update to the core plugin?

    Another message from server support:

I can assure you that our “low level shared hosting” is one of the fastest in the world.

..this plugin can’t work correctly because it uses enormous amount of time and resources. It’s not serious to say that the reason is in the server because this script needs several gigabytes of RAM and few CPU cores to run. Such server including the support (you will need sys admin to administrate it) will cost you several hundred dollars per month. Not to mention that if the script is written correctly it can import that information for several minutes without maximum execution time to expire using the resources that it has.

Is the CSV importer supposed to need several gigabytes of RAM and few CPU cores to run? If not, then what could be causing this problem? Does it have something to do with the CSV file? A recent update to the core? Other plugins that could be causing a conflict? Please advise.
