Thanks for your QUICK response GUUST. That gets me:

    http://jaltembadirectory.com/places/mexico-1/nayarit-1/guayabitos-1/pizza-1/don-porfirio/

It leaves places and puts in Mexico as well but certainly “Simple”. I see I have the option to only include city only but not city and state.

I am not sure if a long URL damages my SEO. Does anyone know if getting /places/Mexico/ out of there would gain me anything?

Does the order of the words matter to Google? I certainly do not want to reduce the chance of the business name being found by getting all that other stuff in front of it.

According to WPengine tech support there is no way to disable caching except by special request for certain pages.

The problem seems to be with the child plugin. Does this error look like a caching problem to you?
    It gets this error:

[Tue Nov 17 22:35:14.919013 2015] [:error] [pid 21700] [client 66.162.212.19:39151] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare geodir_list_view_select() (previously declared in /nas/wp/www/cluster-43109/johan/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory-plugin-child/geodirectory_child_plugin.php:1117) in /nas/wp/www/cluster-43109/johan/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/custom_functions.php on line 87

When I try to activate it it I get: Plugin could not be activated

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare geodir_show_listing_info() (previously declared in /nas/wp/www/cluster-43109/johan/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/custom_fields_functions.php:2175) in /nas/wp/www/cluster-43109/johan/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory-plugin-child/geodirectory_child_plugin.php on line 995

One of the reasons for going to WPengine is their caching optimized for WordPress. Is GDBooster better? My response times have improved dramatically.

I understand and the Wp Engine team is working on the problem.

WPengine has plugin which migrates the sit. It seems to work fine but after serving up maybe 50 pages it stops serving pages because they take too long to execute (error 502 Bad Gateway). I manage to get it working again by disabling the addon plugins except Geodirectory itself. I am working my way slow through enabling each and testing to see which one may be at fault.

Do you know of anyone who has successfully migrated to WP engine?

Thanks Paolo. I forgot that I have hidden that field.

Thank You Paolo. I got that to work but it deletes the right sidebar. I assume you cannot have both left and right sidebar. I just want to confirm that that is correct?

That is my next step but I was hoping to do it in smaller steps since that database has been used for lots of testing of other plugins leaving a lot of options records and other test data behind. No need for additional assistance until I have done what you suggest.

I have done that Guust. I am looking for information specific to Geodirectory and the GDF Modern theme.

Most excellent Guust. Thanks. I knew it had to be there somewhere.

Did I mention that I LOVE Geodir?

I have found a solution that works quite well but please let me know if there is a better way.

    My solution:

    0. Add the new categories if not merging
    1. the business place categories screen shows all categories.
    2. I click the number in the count column for the category I want to move
    3. that displays all the places in that category so I select them all ((I don’t see any way except selecting each one individually. Am I missing something?))
    4. bulk action>>edit
    5. select the new category I want them in
    6. Update
    7. delete the old category

Works like a charm except for having to click each one to select it.

OOps I see I do have another map at the bottom of my detail page and it is called home_map_1. You can delete this post. Very clever that I can set clustering for them separately. LOVE this plugin!!!! Unfortunately with power comes complexity.

Thanks Paolo that almost does everything I want but making all packages featured is not quite what I was looking for. In which program is the data base select/sort for that? I would like to patch the code.

I am using Open Street Map because small towns in Mexico are not very accurate on Google maps. I managed to get the change made by taking a copy of file into my child theme and enquing the script in my functions.php. Now my problem is how to minify it. If you have a link for that it would be very helpful.
