Sort by package_id

I want to put my paying customers first in the listing view. I would still like to be able to select the “sort by order” so that if package_id not = 1 then the place is listed in the first group in the selected sort order followed by all package_id = 1 customers in the same sort order.

Hi,

currently this is not possible.

You can only add the featured option to any of your price packages and featured listings will show up on top of the listings pages and widgets. (if the sort by featured is selected)

Thanks Paolo that almost does everything I want but making all packages featured is not quite what I was looking for. In which program is the data base select/sort for that? I would like to patch the code.

Not tested but:
Add an admin only custom field – text > number
Create one of these for each package and restrict to one package only
Add a default number for the field, different for each package
Do not show on the frontend.
So all listings should now get a hidden number.
Add a sort by that number.
Done … (maybe)

Something like that wouldn’t require just a patch, but a full new set of functions.

Not something we can provide support for.
