Thanks for the feedback! Avada works well on other sites I am involved with but due to the complexity of GD I don’t think I will go in that direction. Speed is absolutely essential so no shared host for me. I am currently using GDF and exploring Bootstrap as well.
Personally I think option 2 would make this happen because this is probably not on their priority list but it is a feature that would definitely enhance the plugin and being part of core removes a lot of issues about a separate plugin, etc.
Much appreciated that you took this time Jeff to work on this. I suppose we will need to see what Stiofan or Paolo thinks. Let me know if you hear anything.

As a follow up to the issue of renaming the Places Post Type, I notices the Post Type is not editable but everything else is. Can I rename Places here (replacing every reference to “Place” with for example “Concert Halls”) or do I also have to edit the .po file as well? Does it matter that the post type is different from every other Listing Slug and Label?
Basically I want to use Places but call it something different. I am not 100% clear on this.

Dumb question but we can link events to other Custom Post Types other than the default Places correct?
Ok did some research and I understand a bit more clearly the advantages of multi-site.
I am glad somebody brought this up as I am not too familiar with multisite so did not even consider it.
So in effect, if we are doing a global directory, I am assuming that each country would be a separate site on the network?

What I am looking for is when I click on a date with my iphone on my site Progressive Lawyer it asks if I want to add it to my calendar of my phone. That’s essentially the functionality I am looking for. An easy way for a user to add an event to their smartphone calendar. That site uses a third party events plugin.

Ok thanks Paolo. I put a request for a quotation on the jobs forum.
What about making dates in events clickable like phone numbers which would then bring up the option to add the date to your calendar (on a mobile)?
Macmizer, go to the GeoDirectory menu, General and you will see tabs for the dummy data.

Is there any updates on this? Where it becomes critical for me is in displaying copyright information on photos as when we use 3rd party photographers they often request that their copyright be displayed on their images.
Personally I favor this approach only because it doesn’t force you to add a caption and thus you will not have the white line below a non-captioned image:
#2 Show the text OVER the image at the bottom on a black transparent background.
Pros: no empty space below images that have no caption
Cons: text over image.
