I set up the website credential and uploaded the file to Sharefile on Friday. If we cannot import/export large data then this is a “limitation” of the program. This “kind” of limitation is why I “switched” from the last directory plugin.
When I read “easily” import large data I as sold. I would be willing to “invest” in a way that will allow me to import data file with up to a 100,00 to 300,000 records at once without losing several weekends and hours of time hunting for “instruction” and methods.
I have nixed the excel and only use Open Office and still I cannot get this to work. Does anyone know how to make this work.
I am on a dedicated linux server with 4 quad processors and 16 gb ram.
This is not a VPM.I was successful on uploaded 4,000 records until it quit. Then, because I forgot to put an “expiration date” on the uploads I started getting thousands of expiration emails.
So, I downloaded the “imported” file and added the “expiration date” to all the listing and tried to “update” the listings. No results at all..
Is it true? Can we handle “import/export” large data easily?
Kind regards,This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private. No luck. I change the default .csv files to all open in open office. I “exported” the recent import because I forgot to put an expiration date on the uploads. This caused a back log of email expirations.
Now, I cannot import the corrected .csv file.
I am losing days on this aspect of not getting imports to work and it is becoming frustrating as I work on project primarily on the weekends. So now, weeks have passed with this same import problem.
This is a major “not good” thing.
I will begin from “the beginning” starting from the “unzip” of the zip file. Here is what I am going to “change” this time around. First, I right clicked the “Excel” file icon and did the following:
I chose “open with”
I chose to use Open Office and the “default” program to always open zip files. Thus, avoiding even having excel involved at any time.I will let you know how this works. Thank you.
Also, when importing “the columns” Latitude and Longitude… does it make a difference if the data is “Centroid” or “long-poly?”
Please close topic. I found this under search for “settings” thank you.
CPT > table > Delete Column > “delete row cpt item”
The second back restore went well. I am “leaving” it alone for now. I created the new one.
I am performing a rather substantial import this evening and will back it up when completed.
I did not try to delete Events or Places
Just thought you would want to know.
Ok, popping back in to edit reply…
I just went to “default map settings” and the “bar” cpt was check as the default. I do not know if this was the problem or not. I have deleted “bar” as default on map and will try to delete it as a cpt at a later point in time. This reply has been marked as private.http://WhatsHappeningToday.com. Thank you Guust.
Thank you.
Activation emails are being sent. But sometimes they are not. Users are ending up in the pending area. Why could this be happening?
This reply has been marked as private.Update.. registration appears to now be working. I updated “all” plugins turned back on the captcha and I am also now using the bp register form.
Still having issues with the “Pending Registrations” view function and the “you do not have permissions” Yes, I am logged in as super admin.
Wow.. I got a work thru from OpenOffice. Wow.. but even then it failed. Sample .csv file attadhed.
Please do not tell me I am “required” to know the latitude and longitude of a purchase database list in order for this to upload.
Also, if the State is abbreviated, for example CA for California will the abbreviation cause the import to fail?
I have an OO spread sheet all defined. How do I save it as an text OO.csv. The Windows machine default spread sheet is excel.
When I open the OO spread sheet it looks just fine.
