    Hi ALex,

    Yes, hopefully this will help:

We have dinnerdata.uk (https://dinnerdata.uk) currently working on an earlier version of the Chargerpoints.co.uk site taken from an All-in-1-migration plugin backup.

This is with Ninja forms DEACTIVATED and using WordPress 5.2.5 & GDv2.0.0.65 and the “IN” search works if you select “Willen” from the autocomplete suggestions on the homepage. Please see:
    https://dinnerdata.uk/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=&city=willen

It has 3 results for locations in Willen

On the current https://chargerpoints.co.uk site, with Ninja forms again DEACTIVATED, using WordPress 5.3.2 & GDv2.0.0.74 the results don’t return Willen locations, rather return all listings starting with Caribbean Dutchpot (I think the most recently added featured listing). Please see:
    https://chargerpoints.co.uk/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=&city=willen

In case, we tried activating Ninja forms (v3.4.22) and ran the IN search again, but still came back with all results. And to confirm when we had Ninja forms active in the dinnerdata.uk site, we saw the original problem of no pins on the map.

Hope this helps track down the difference – hopefully not a needle in a haystack.

Thanks again and all the best for Christmas & the New Year

OK, thanks for getting back to me so promptly.

What’s the best thing to do? GDv2.0.0.65 is able to return results which are no longer working for us with 2.0.0.7 onwards. I haven’t checked on all aspects but I don’t think we have the clash with Ninja forms either, so are there any negative connotations of going back to 2.0.0.65 if it delivers the experience we want our site to offer?

    Thanks

Just a quick follow-up I can confirm from a test site that geodirectory v2.0.0.65 is producing the correct results from the dropdown selection.

The test search I did used https://dinnerdata.uk/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=&city=woburn-sands.

I put back geodirectory v2.0.0.70 and the same search URL returned incorrect results.

Hope that helps, and if you want me to put v2.0.0.65 in place for you just let me know.

    Regards

    Hi Alex,

Yes sorry if I’m not being clear, so hopefully the attached images will help you see what I’m doing and the results.

I think I am referring to the Near field, and it is not returning results from the database that correspond to the location offered in the dropdown list.

So step 1 I start typing “Willen” in the near field on the homepage search box at https://chargerpoints.co.uk. Step 2 I select from the list and click search. Step 3 shows the result which is in Northampton. If I enter the details in full (Step 4) and then click search, I get results from Willen – Step 5.

If I understand correctly, the Step 4 & 5 search is sent to Google, but Steps 1 to 3 are dealing with the database? I think when we first set up the site with GDv2.0.0.65 the dropdown process was returning correct results, either that or we didn’t have enough entries in the database to tell that the results were incorrect.

Hope this helps understand what we’re experiencing.

    Thanks and best regards

    Malcolm

    Hi Alex,

OK we’ve updated to WP 5.3.2, hoping it would fix another problem we’ve encountered when still on 5.2.5 but it hasn’t. We’ve also installed GD v2.0.0.74

Apologies if I have something I’ve overlooked in the settings but it seems location search isn’t working?

From our homepage at https://chargerpoints.co.uk/ the search near me seems to work OK, but scroll down to the search input form and start typing a location (eg “Harpenden”), when you select the name from the autocomplete fields it doesn’t find anything. If however you type in and ignore the autocomplete then it is OK.

Sorry to bring more trouble for you, but I guess you’d rather know – and apologies again if it’s something we’ve mucked up in settings, or it’s a plugin causing a clash.

On that note quickly we deactivated Ninja Forms, but that didn’t help…

    Thanks

    Malc

    Hi Alex,

Yes fine with geodirectory v2.0.0.72 on WordPress 5.2.5, but I upgraded to geodirectory v2.0.0.73 and then I get the error with logged out user on bubble maps.

Perhaps your 5.3.1 fix may have introduced a similar problem for 5.2.X?

I have rolled back geodirectory to v2.0.0.72 as we haven’t checked all plugins with 5.3.1.

If you want to access our site to see the results please do – and thanks, we have our fix with 2.0.0.72.

    Best regards

    Hi Alex,

Great find, thanks. I’ve deactivated Ninja Forms at the moment as we’re not actively using it on that site at the moment, and will reactivate once the fix has been installed.

If you need to test anything please feel free to reactivate Ninja Forms if you need to go into our site again.

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply. I know why the home map isn’t loading, it’s because in css I have hidden it.

What we want to try and achieve is to have a listing style map show on the near me search results page.

When we do a normal search, such as https://dinnerdata.co.uk/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=birmingham&sgeo_lat=52.48624299999999&sgeo_lon=-1.8904009999999971 the search results map shows the pins for the listings on that page.

We want to do the same thing for near me, which in our case at the moment is https://dinnerdata.co.uk/location/me/ which won’t accept the GD Listings map. Happy to use a different template which we can customise if we can be pointed to any documentation on how we configure near me to use a different template?

    Thanks Alex

Look forward to hearing back, and then if you still need access I’ll send that across privately

    Hi again,

Found the problem, we had an undefined script – modernizr.min.js – that seemed to be causing the slideshow issue. Fixed that and we’re back up and running.

Thought I’d let you know in case anyone else ends up being clumsy like me …

    Have a good weekend
