May I chime in? It sounds pretty much the same issue:

Patrick fixed that for me, and I guess he could do that for you as well.

Yes, it was blank but now I can’t replace/clear my placeholder text (wherever it came from) with a blank space. Searched my translation files but with no luck. Should be in the Pricing Manager. But anyway, if it does no harm I leave it as is.

Makes perfectly sense now. Thank you for clarifying!

I just found out what was at first confusing me about the word ‘description’: there is a field in the package settings which is called ‘description’ too.

I have once entered a text to test where it appears, but it never showed up. Strangely I cannot delete this test text anymore. Marking it and hitting delete will remove it from the field, but after saving the settings it reappears.

Should I open a new topic about that? It is just a minor issue and does not affect customer experience, since this text gets nowhere displayed, at least on my system.

    Regards,
    Martin

    Okay, thank you Paolo,

Just one last unanswered question: Is the ‘description’ Alex was mentioning the default text field (post_content), which lets clients describe their portfolio? Must be…

    Thanks for your patience Alex!

Maybe I just get this wrong:

GD Search only looks at title/description/tags/category

What is the ‘description’? Is it the same as – which I call – the ‘default text entry field’, which is named ‘post_content’ in the back end of a listing form? All those words entered by a client here are found by GD search.

I would love to include every word of custom text fields in the search results as well, but as far as I understand this cannot be achieved, right?

Please note my two screenshots for a better explanation. I’ll be out for about an hour now, but look forward to your answer.

Sorry, but why do I get the above mentioned search results from “search for“ then? Have you tried it for yourself?

I have installed advanced search. It will let me add my custom text field “Wirkungskreise“, but this does not make sense.

    Thanks for your reply Alex.

I have created a test listing to prove which words of my text fields are being indexed.

    Please go to:

    https://edelmut.org/organisationen/ueber-den-wolken-e-v/

All the words of the default text field „Profil“ (frontend)(which is „post_contend“ in backend) are found by GD search. This is great, because I do not want to offer my clients the option of entering tags yet. Please enter „Tellerrand“ (which is in the main profile text) in the search bar and my test listing „Über den Wolken“ gets found.

But as soon as I enter a word from the text field „Wirkungskreise“, i.e. „Yachthafen Wedel“, I get no search results. This makes me believe that there could be some „hidden“ setting to trigger the GD search for my added text fields.

Any ideas? Admin credits haven’t changed.

    Regards,
    Martin

    Hi Kiran,

thanks testing. The screenshots were taken from the frontend. Site Language was set to German, User to „Website Language“, which should be German.

I recorded the screen to better explain the issue. Only after adding a new Opening Time, the translation finds it’s way.
