Events and listings packages are handled individually, what you can do is to create a paid package for events, where members should pay to list an event.
It will be, for example, displayed with the category icon for the cat1 on the map, (if you have restaurant and hotel, on the map will be displayed the restaurant icon)
It’s not listed as GD-friendly (I didn’t tried myself with GD), but I thought there was some kind of setting that would make you choose the custom field for the achievement, i might be confusing with some other plugin thou

could you try to set the page template to “full width” (edit the page, and you will find a drop down on the right hand side of the editor page)
