As always, outstanding support from the team at GD. How dare I forget your products are perfect and it’s ALWAYS the users fault – and now it is Google’s!?!?. Surely, it’s not GD. Not ever. Not once. If I knew THAT, I would have common sense. Clearly I don’t
I am requesting AGAIN you remove those links. I don’t not want them made public to this community for VERY obvious reasons.
This reply has been marked as private.I check what Google says is true….and Google says 1 of 250 events is indexed. So that is 100% fact. When 344 of 346 posts are indexed – but 1 of 240 gd_events are indexed – then that’s what Google thinks. Period. 100% facts. I care what Google thinks of my site.
So Google – in Webmaster Tools – CLEARLY AND FACTUALLY has an issue with all GD sitemaps.

If the problem were the content of the listings, then the issue would also occur with my post and page listings and not JUST gd sitemaps. Post, Page, Video – all fine. ONLY GD sitemaps.
It might have to do with all your weird permalink settings. But changing those sitewide is not an option. No plug in should force site-wide permalinks one way or another – but maybe that’s why there are issues.
Thanks. You should also know something about the GD sitemaps makes Google not index them. My page and post sitemaps are indexed at close to 100%. But my /gd_event-sitemap.xml, /gd_place-sitemap.xml and /gd_placecategory-sitemap.xml are indexed at close to 0% (maybe 1 of every 100 or so).
This makes GD bad for anyone interested in SEO traffic.
I don’t know how to replicate it either. The hundreds of broken links on Google and in my broken links plugin proved the upgrade crashed all the events. And there’s a few other things that have crashed (I don’t know exactly the day/time you upgraded GD, so I can’t tell the cause, which is what happens when multiple people make changes to a site without documenting their work) – but there are times my site won’t show images now (never happened before) and all my widget settings were deleted.
I’ve restored the theme settings, confirmed users are still able to submit events (both of which get removed during upgrades) and now will be troubleshooting why all my users are having such a difficult time submitting events. I’ve gotten more support questions and issues in the last month of GD than I did with 2 years on GT.
This reply has been marked as private.Let’s say I can’t get you FTP access. What can I look at on the server?
Is there anything I can look at via FTP? Setting up your FTP account isn’t working and I won’t give out my primary account.
Also port 22
are you using sftp?
This reply has been marked as private.Broken: GD 1.6.3 & Events 1.3.6
Works: GD Version 1.6.2 & Events 1.3.6
Works: GD Version 1.6.2 & Events 1.3.5So I don’t see how what you’re saying makes sense. GD 1.6.3 is what is breaking all the events, regardless of which Events version is being used.
