Hi Alex – yes the expert directory was where I got the solution in the first place (Guust).

It’s a little frustrating that the forced update not only broke the site, but also invalidated the custom work I had paid for.

Apologies – the one I found was actually ‘manage_options’.

Thanks for getting back to me Alex.

It looks like Guust is away until the end of August, and I’m afraid I need this sorting before then.

Would you be able to dig up the correct capability, in reference to editing a listing? The only one I’ve been able to find is ‘manage listing’, but that seems to only work for the site administrator.

More digging has shown that another option may be to use the ‘current_user_can(capability)’ as a means to hide certain content as follows:

    [s2If current_user_can(capability)]
Hidden content, for listing owner only, goes here.
    [/s2If]

Could you please let me know the appropriate reference for listing ownership editing capabilities? I can;t seem to find it anywhere in your documentation.

So – after some further digging I can see that you recommend s2membership plugin for this kind of thing.

I have gone ahead and installed, and am trying to use the [s2If current_user_is(author)] shortcode to hide a section of content on a separate listing tab.

This doesn’t seem to working however – presumably because the claim listing plugin does not set the listing owner to author in the way that s2 members is looking for.

Can you suggest how this can be solved please?
